Hello, new member here and very new to ecigs and vaping

I'm probably not the average user since i haven't been smoking cigarettes for years, instead relying on nicotine products like the nasal spray and the inhaler

I'm trying out vaping mostly to save money (those nicotine products are expensive here!) but i do have a question about potential harm from vaping

It's been a week on my new ecig and i'm really enjoying it but i've noticed i have more shortness of breath. Please excuse me if that's not the correct term, English isn't my first language. Anyway, is this normal? Will it go away? Is it harmful to me?

The reason i'm asking is that i've found it really hard to find any reliable information, most studies either not being the subject of peer review or having ties to either the tobacco or nicotine industry

Any input is much appreciated

Thanks

Welcome to ECF Jonas, make yourself right at home :)
You really shouldn't be having shortness of breath, check to see if your VG ratio is too high for you ... standard would be 50% PG & 50% VG. Maybe you just need to adjust? Also, are you drinking lots of water? It's kind of a requirement for vapers.

Or see a doctor if it's really bad!

    Hello and thank you

It's really not bad, just noticeable when running/walking at a brisk pace

I'll try some different liquids and see if it improves, otherwise i might have to check in with the doctor but i'm 99% this is related to ecigs somehow

Could be i'm just not used to having something besides air in my lungs since i've been on the horribly overpriced nicotine products

Hope i can fix this because i'm really enjoying ecigs and i'm saving lots of money:)

Side note - why does it turn some words into links?

Hey, first off welcome to the forums! You definitely made the right choice switching to vaping, especially if cost effectiveness is a priority.

As far as your issues with shortness of breath, I don't believe it's uncommon but it's fixable. I would take a look at the kind of juice you're vaping first (I'm assuming you're rocking out with a standard starter vape pen and not some more advanced RBA). I've read & heard about people having negative reactions to juices with too much PG in it so possibly switching to a 70/30 or 80/20 formula would help.

Also, some of the words light up after you post becuase they link back to other sections of the site, I know i just read that somewhere in the new member forums. Anyway, hope the shortness of breath passes and you continue to enjoy vaping!
