New member - Tesla APV, battery wraps and Smokin Crow

I am probably posting this in the incorrect venue; however, as a newbie I am limited in my options.

I chose the Tesla APV since it is possible to change the wattage or voltage. I also chose it because i like the fact that I can change the battery and the look whenever I chose. It seems that the Tesla is a love or hate it look, though. One question on the batteries, would there be any danger in wrapping a battery (18650) in a vinyl wrap, or painting one? The Tesla is vented so heat build up may not be a problem, but then again, I don't know anything about battery properties.

I have found that I need a lower nicotine level when using the Tesla v the eGo C. I was interested if anyone else has noticed this, or if it is my own personal needs. I find that after all day vaping, my stomach can get nauseous, just like over smoking the analogs.

A great big thank you to SmokinCrow.Com The guys there are great, and actually called me when sending out my second order. The Tesla kit had everything I needed (minus liquid) to put it together and vape away.

Howdy Hammer-Vaile and welcome to ECF (you've probably already had quite a few welcomes, but thought I'd add one). I would probably advise against wrapping your batteries in anything and especially against painting them. One reason not to do this is you want your batteries to dissipate heat as much as possible when they are charging. Adding another layer to them is probably not the best thing you could do for them. As for painting, there are numerous chemicals in paint that can cause problems with the coatings on batteries. Additionally, as the batteries charge and discharge, they warm up and some paints will give off fumes as they get warm. Not a great idea to have that close to your face as you are inhaling from the device. Though the amount of fumes and/or the amount of heat covering your batteries one way or another may be arguably negligible, there is still the possibility doing so could prove to cause a negative effect with battery life cycles or possibly even contribute to a lower safety situation. Probably not the wisest course. On the other hand, altering the mod itself to different color to personalize it can be fun if done well. Happy vaping!

I agree with Deacon Aegis, don't wrap or paint the batteries. It will not make them safer, but could quickly become a safety issue.

The eGo-C is not variable voltage, so you have much more power available to you with the Tesla. If you use the higher power you will be vaporizing more juice per puff so will be getting more nic. Nausea is a sign of too much nic. I used to get headaches when I did that. If you buy lower nicotine juice that will go away.
