New member upgrading to a new model

First off, I'm a new member but have been vaping for the past 4 months or so. I have read up and researched a lot about PV's, laws and the many opinions/suggestions this community has to offer (before I decided to even register an account here).

I own a 510-t, it's mediocre at best but not bad for small PV... I think it's more an issue with my atties that the product itself. I started out on this model and it was the reason I stopped vaping for a while and went back to smoking. Flavor was disappointing and mostly tasted "dratty" or burnt. However once I cleaned the atties and gave vaping another try I decided it was the PV i owned, not the vaping experience that was at fault.

I have "settled" so far on an EGO c. Not a kgo or riva, but an EGO c. I have chose this model because of the following reasons:

aesthetic appeal
Was impressed with the flavor and vape production when I tested my friends
Tank system (I dont like cartos)
Easily changeable atty
decent battery life
I wont have to make an online order because a local shop (vancityvapour) has them in stock

I'm not 100% settled on the ego c, but it seems like a good option for me despite the fact that a lot of long time vapers here seem to not endorse it. However, if there is something vastly better with a tank system and a similar general size I'm all ears to suggestions. I'm not interested in the crazy shaped models like the silver bullet, provari, screwdriver ect.. While those models are amazing in terms of overall vaping experience I want something sleek. The ego has a sleek look and aesthetic appeal greatly affects my final decision. Kgo has a better battery, but honestly i'd still rather buy local. The ego c seems to offer good vape production and flavor, with easy cleaning and also utilizes the tank system.

That's then end of my first post/ramble. I look forwards to discussion and suggestion.

I got the ego as well (not the ego c set up) been using cartomizers and like them. Just using some standard (knock off's probally) LR dual coils now. I'm going to get the vape-o-matic liquidinator(have only seen good reviews so far), ego mega dual coil cartomizer (again, only good reviews and looks great on an ego batt) and a set up for dripping. I would say gives cartos another shot, they are cheap. Get one that holds a good amount of liquid with good reviews (such as the one i mentioned above) keep it wet and i really do think you will be happy. Also dripping is awesome.

Welcome to ECF! I could be 'way off-base here, but looks to me like you need someone to give you about a 2 or 3% shove toward an eGo c and you'd buy one! (I'm smiling as I type this & hope you're smiling back). I'm not sure what I'm going to tell you will give you that little push, but it might: what you need in a PV, first & foremost, is one you will USE. I don't care what anybody else thinks about it, and you don't need to either. It's really kinda like falling in love (okay, only a little bit, but I'm illustrating here so please cut me some slack). I could have a worthless, spitting, sputtering, ....-ugly, slightly-steaming PV that every vaper on the Planet makes fun of, but if *I* am happy with it, what else matters?

From what I've read I think the eGo c is a pretty good PV, and certainly a giant step up from the one you've had. Also I respect that you'd rather buy locally... there's a *lot* to be said for that. But the best thing about your choice of this one, or of similar models, is if you decide you don't care for tanks after all, switching to cartos or dripping attys or whatever is easy as pie. It gives you quite a number of interesting options you've never had before, and you can explore them if you wish, when you choose and as your finances permit... all the while vaping away on a very enjoyable PV. I think you'll be okay - if you'll USE it.

I second what Warren says, what makes you happy. Buying localy ain't a bad thing either...
I use the Ego-T and C, they have worked out great for me.

I started on an eGo-T and 510-T kit myself. Within the first couple days I retired the 510 and used the eGo for months until I got my first "Mod". If I can't talk you into jumping right into a Mod the eGo is certainly a good choice. You'll get better battery life than the 510 and more versatility in the atties and cartos that you can use. You can't go wrong with some LR cartos (preferably Boges) on an eGo. You'll get great vapor and flavour and they are relatively inexpensive. I actually prefer the Rivas to tell you the truth; the buttons are nicer and I find they last longer before the battery decides to give up the ghost.

In either case though, you'll love the eGo batteries. Best of luck and Vape Groovily, my friend

Thanks for the input! i was wondering if there is a way to combine a tanks system with a cartomizer? id love to be able to have the vape and flavor without the constant dripping

The eGo-C is worlds better than the 510-t (and arguably worlds better than the eGo-T). I use one about once a week, and I must say that the flavor is much better than the eGo-T, and I haven't had a leak yet.

The only thing I don't care for is the fact that they use the smaller Type A tanks, but a newer Type B should be here in a couple of months. That shouldn't keep you from buying now though... all you would need would be a new collar and tanks... With that said, I wouldn't go nuts buying tanks... I have around 50 Type Bs and 15 Type As, and I'll kill a Type A in an hour or so...

I don't think you'll be disappointed with it. I'm a big fan, and I don't think you can do any better with ANY mass manufactured device.

I started the same way you have, I then switched to the ego and decided that cartos and tanks were not for me. I eventually learned how to fix up clearos (the normal ones, I actually haven't tried the ego specific ones yet) and I am more than happy now.

I also prefer to shop locally and honestly we can get whatever we need here, a teeny bit more pricey, but well worth not having to worry about customs and to give local businesses a boost!

(I will admit I am now eyeing out a provari mini lol)

Personally I think the eGo tanks suck, but thats just me. The eGo C tanks are a slight improvement over the older T tanks, but honestly thats not saying much. They still can be very finicky and leak, plus they dull flavor and TH just like the older T tanks do.
Again, like someone else said, If your happy with it thats all that matters, but I would def consider getting a carto tank instead of the eGo tanks.
I prefer the E-Power and kGo over the eGo bc they are both 3.7V PVs, while the eGo is only 3.3-3.4V. The 3.7V PVs provide alittle more "oomph" and more importantly handle the lower resistance attys and cartos a lot better.
I dont know how much that local shop charges for the eGo-C kit, but I doubt its less than you could get an E-Power or kGo kit for.
I use an E-Power and really like it bc it uses non-proprietary batteries, which are removable. The batteries cost $4-5 compared to eGo/kGo batteries that cost $14-20. And everything is replaceable on the E-Power, so you dont have to buy a whole new unit everytime you need to replace a battery or a switch fails.
If your looking for a tank, the Smoktech 3.5ml tanks are perfect for E-Power/kGo/eGo sized PVs. They are dual coil tanks, but I think dual coils suck at lower voltages, so instead I use the Ressurector cartos in my 3.5ml tank and they work a lot better. The Ressurectors are designed for 3.7V PVs, like the E-Power and kGo, and they work awesome on both. THey also will work on an eGo, but dont run at full potential since the eGo is only 3.3-3.4V.
Heres what they look like:
I like the 3.5ml tanks bc their big enough that I can fill them in the morning and be good all day, yet their still small enough that I can easily carry my E-Power in my pocket with the tank on it.
I like the 3.5ml tanks bc they only cost $10, and personally I think their a LOT better than any of the eGo tanks, and their a lot more consistant.
I pop a fresh battery in my E-Power every morning and fill both my tanks, and can vape all day long maintenance free.

If you want a tank I would def consider something like the 3.5ml Smoktech tanks over an eGo-C tank.

Welcome to ECF. Whatever you use that keeps you from smoking is a good PV. If you're happy with it, stick with it. No need to upgrade.
