Hello, I just started vaping about a week and a half ago and it's been good so far, haven't smoked since I've started. This forum has been a great resource for education helping me to get started. Before I took to vaping I looked around to see which was one of the most widespread models so parts would be plentiful. The RN4081 looked like it. I heard complaints about low vapor so looked up some videos. Vapor seemed great for my needs so I took the plunge.

Either the videos aren't using 4081's or mine is wonky somehow, lol. Always made sure my cart was topped off and even put a drop on the atomizer every now and then (I never let it go dry), take long, slow draws, and the vapor is still... disappointing. I bought two batteries (which I fully charged before use) and it's the same result with both. I'm using PG liquid, dekang I think.

Look at these:

YouTube - AquaVaporCig Classic (RN4081) Ecig
YouTube - Parked's Review of the RN4081 E cigarette Personal vaporiser
YouTube - Electronic Cigarette Review - Super Mini (NPRO/RN4081/PeeWee)

Mine isn't even close (are all these guys using VG liquid?). What am I doing wrong? Sub-par atomizer? (1-hole) Two weak batteries? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Dekang juice is all PG so the cloud of vapor won't be as prominent. You need to vape juices with a PG/VG mix. VG is your cloud producer. PG enhances the flavor and sweetens your juice a tad. Try FSUSA (FreedomSmokeUSA.com). They have wonderful prices and great customer service. They are running a sale today. Type in presidents in the coupon code line to get 25 percent off your order. I hope this helps you. I can't comment on the ecig you bought, I only used Joye 510's before going onto mods.

I loved the RN4081 from Aquavapor! with the cartomizers, it worked fantastic. My biggest issue was battery life, so I upgraded to the eGo. Please try the cartomizers for it and you will be surprised how much more vapor you get... its night and day. If you decide to stick with the RN4081, let me know, Ill make you a killer deal on the PCC and the extra batterys/chargers I have.

I would guess you got "auto" batteries which is part of the problem. The 4081 is not great IMO and I'm not sure you can even find a manual battery for a 4081. I would cut your losses and get one of the better "starter" kits such as the eGo or Riva 510, or the VGO 801. You can get one of these for right around $35 and they will perform 100% better. Definitely switch to manual batteries.

I think there are manual batteries at AZSmokeFree.com and maybe VaporKings.com

Shouldn't matter for vapor but you need to know how to drag and you need to have juice with some VG in it if you expect to inhale vapor and have any left on exhale. PG vapor dissipates quickly.

Auto - you may need an extra fake drag to start to warm up the atty. Then do your real drag.
Manual - you press the button in about 1 second before starting your drag and can let it up about a second or more before ending your drag

VG - even 10% VG in a juice with improve the visibility of the vapor and slow down its dissipation. I like 70pg/30vg. To exhale lots of visible vapor try at least 50/50. But the more VG you have, the less TH you will have.

I got a PCC kit when I started up, really liking it, no battery issues at all. I got mine from azsmokefree.com. I'm waiting for Mr. Lang to get more blank cartos in stock, they sold out the day before I made my order, haha. A lot of places seem to be out of them, Aquavapor has them, but I'd like to order from azsmokefree if I'm able.

I'll start playing with PG/VG mixes as well, see if that plus the cartos will help.

Thanks for the tips! I'll try mixing some li1quids, see if I can find something I like.

Ooh, you can even select the PG/VG mix, definitely getting bookmarked.

Just thought I'd give an update: I purchased some blank carto's from azsmokefree (they're flying off the shelf, btw) and Chefanim was correct, a world of difference in throat hit and vapor. I also bought 10ml of some VG liquid and tried it out just to see the difference in TH and flavor, lots and lots of vapor. But, the amount of vapor I'm getting from the carto's and PG fluid is fine for me, and i'm one of those that almost needs that throat hit.

Two things though:

1. I've read that the single-hole 4081 atomizers perform very well. That's the one I have and it's rather, meh. I think I may have just gotten a dud.

2. What's the deal with the blank 4081 carto shortage? Lots of places are out of stock. I've only found 2 sites that have them in stock, one is about to run out again, and the other charges almost twice as much. I would just get the pre-filled but the majority available are high nic, I use low.

Thanks so much for your help, so glad to be a member here!
