Hello vaping community. been off the smokes and vaping for 2 months now. currently toking on a mini protank 2 with regular battery. im wanting to skip a few steps in the progression and go ahead and get the vtr. im leaning towards the protank but am wondering what options there are for something that fits but will hold more juice. ive seen the "what fits the vtr" chart on here already. im wondering if anyone has had the IB tanked 19mm custom made into a taller version. i read that the XL is 1.57" tall. can i get one custom made about 2' tall? has anyone tried this or is it even possible? thoughts? pics if youve seen it done?

Haven't used an IBTank before, Wouldn't know what to say about that. But I will go ahead and say that I've been wanting to get a VTR for a little while now, I also have a SVD from Innokin so i could somewhat have a mini Innokin army here Lol. Go online and check out Rip Trippers review of the VTR. One of the coolest things about that device is that you can Sub-Ohm on it. Meaning you can build coils that are below 1.0 and still fire, Whereas on a mod like my SVD can only support around 1.2 i believe.. Seen pictures of it going a little lower so i will have to try it out.

I have a couple IBtanks and they are awesome. Experiment with different brands / types of pre punched cartomizers available until you find the perfect one and your sure to not be disappointed. As far as the VTR it's an awesome device. I have used several at the vape shop and friends but my only disappointment with it is the protective ring that holds the tank. Of course it could be removed with some delicate cutting but I would be scared to slip and cut the actual device. The protective ring allows 19mm diameter tanks max so keep that in mind if you choose an IBtank or a kaifun / Russian in the future.

An IBTanked 19mm XL is what you need for the VTR. It takes XL cartos which are 45mm long, which are the longest cartos made. That's what I have in both of mine. Works great.

Sorry, I am not sure what the advantage would be of what you are proposing to do.

the advantage i was looking for was more juice in the tank. but if the 45mm carto is the longest, then im guessing it is not possible.

I have to try carto some day. They look neat and will be fun to play with. But as for the protective ring and necessary extention for large atomizers, I find my VTR with the extention on and a tank, to be shorter than many sticks and other box designs:)

Taken from IBTanked's FAQs:

Q: How much do the tanks hold?

A: Note that the below is approximate and we are conservative with our numbers. We do not count what goes into the cartomizer and leave a little room at the top but these are very good estimates on how much liquid our tanks will hold.
•15mm HalfLing =
•15mm Standard=
•15mm XL =
•19mm HalfLing = 0.7ml
•19mm Standard= 1.5ml
•19mm XL = 2ml
•22mm HalfLing = 1.2ml
•22mm Standard = 3ml
•22mm XL = 4.5ml
•25mm HalfLing = 2ml
•25mm Standard = 5ml
•25mm XL = 8ml

That doesn't include what's in the carto, so you should end up with about as much as in a ProTank.

Well, you definately want pre-punched. Unless you want to youtube how to punch a hole in a cartomizer. Oms won't matter much since the variable voltage / wattage of the VTR will adjust the vape for you. My personal preference is anything pre-punched 1-2 holes that is dual coil. I choose 1 hole punched normally because with 2-3 holes punched it has a higher chance of flooding the cartomizer if you draw to hard or let it sit too long. Plus, 1 hole is plenty and I've never had a dry hit as long as I keep the liquid above the cartomizer's pre punched hole.
