Hello everyone! Just joined up the other day and wanted to say "Hello" I just stumbled across this "new thing" called vaping. I am pretty excited. I have been smoking now for over 15 years. For the most of that time I have maintained myself to be in pretty great shape, but now after a significant back injury and father time catching up with me I am really getting annoyed with my conditioning and the effect that smoking is having me on keeping myself in better shape.
I do however have one problem... I really, really like smoking. I want to quit because of the health and the cost, but I know I will really, really miss it. This just may be the replacement I am looking for.
I have ordered my first eCig. I may have rushed the decision to buy, and not purchased the most bang for my $$ model. I ordered from buyreddragon.com, I have now read enough reviews to see reviewers are mixed at best on this product. They have still not shipped this product, even though I have paid more for their second level shipping.
Does anyone here have any experience with this seller, or their product? I am also looking at ordering M401 Dragon from TrueSmoker, however I want to wait until I get some time in with the one I have already ordered. I am hoping this is truly the replacement that quite a few people are reporting it is.

Thanks in advance...

Mike

Hi, bulldogge. I came from the same corner as you. I didn't like the cost, smell or the health issues, but, dang, I loved smoking. Ecigs make a good alternative and that's all I use, now.
Personally, I think the M401 is a good model. A good compromise of vapor and taste. I would recommend manual batteries for it, though.

Seems that the vast majority of us here really did enjoy the act of smoking, I know I did, I loved it, I was just unhappy with the health issues and all the other crap that went with it.

As for vaping, it's a bit different than smoking IMO, but most folks seem to enjoy it equally (if not more) than smoking once they get into it.

I started with the red dragon from buyreddragon.com. I thought it was ok. It did help me go from about 40 cigs a day to about 10. There is a very short cut off on these so I would double hit it to get enough of a draw and then I would end up hot boxing it and causing the inside filter to burn. After a couple of weeks with this model I found this forum and got a 901, which I love. I also love all the others I got!! :) If you want a 2 piece, I would look at the kr808d-1. The cut off is a lot longer and you can get a decent draw. I also have the 401 dragon from truesmoker and I love that too. It is more the size of a regular cigarette and the draw on it is comparable. Hope this helps!!
:)

Thank you all for the advice. Good to hear I am not going to get totally hosed on my first unit. I am getting really anxious for this to arrive. Did you all find that you stopped smoking right away? Or did you ween yourselves off them?
This forum seems to be a terrific source for really great advice, with some very active members.
Thanks again...

I started with 401 and smoked 1/2 pack the first day, 4 smokes the next and haven't had one since. Though, it's not uncommon to gracefully cut back. What ever works, work it :D. And this is the place I get all my info and do all my shopping ;).

That's awesome, & congrats. I do have one last question that just came to mind. It's about the smell. Can you please describe the ambient odor? Alot of people say there is no smell at all! I do find that a little hard to believe. I will not vape if there if is any smell that lasts for anything more than a min or two. One I don't like it, and two the better half may complain.
I would love to be able to chill in front of the TV watching saturday night hockey with a Beer. Running outside in the winter here really sucks!

My wife, daughter, dentist & dental tech (all non-smokers) all agree, they can't smell it. The dentist is a linebacker-size guy, got right down close, took a big sniff (he wanted to see if I could actually produce a cloud of vapor - I did) and giggled - yeah, literally giggled, with glee. Then he said "That is so damn cool, I'm going to get one'a them." I warned him that, as a non-smoker, he should probably stick with no-nic juice.

[Oh - it's a 401/402 - a really nice ecig and I expect it's gonna be even nicer when I manage to get my hands on some XL carts.]
