a little bit ago i bought a vaporizer from a local shop ... and recently decided i wanted more information about exactly what i got ... found this site ... after about a day of reading i am still confused so posting up ... from what i have figured out is basically what is on the packaging ... and little more ...

the labeling on it are HotVapes ... torpedo ce5 .... the charger says eGo on the spec label but i am guessing this is not an officially made one from them? ...

i have no complaints with it .. just was looking for other options like a second battery and such ...

i have a lot to learn hah! ... going from a Hookah to this ... more portable, easier to setup and go, less mess was my main reason ...

Hi Silenzzz. Welcome to the ECF. So yes you have an eGo class device. Similar to this Torpedo With a ce5(clearomizer) rather than the "t" atomizer Or cartridge/atomizer..... The "eGo" has been adopted as a type of battery, much like saying I have a "car"..... Most everything that has 510(inner small) threading or eGo(outer larger) threading would be appropriate to attach to your batteries. Same holds true for replacement batteries, an eGo battery would be all but identical to what you have there now.

As for upgrades, a twist version would be an uprade(or spinner) and also you likely have a 650mAh size there in your hand(most popular size in a kit) and you could upgrade the runtime by getting a higher mAh battery if need be. Good Luck. Happy vaping.

thanks for the photo. that clears up a lot ... that is exactly what kind it is ... and gotcha on the eGo being more of a 'type' then a specific brand now ...

this would be the one i got ... with two containers of fluid ...

one thing i have noticed ... when i leave it sitting on my desk (leave it standing upright) after a few hours a small amount of the fluid will have leaked out ... hard to tell exactly where it is coming from ... i have only finger tightened the upper part onto it like the person at shop told me... but the plastic sides feel a little slick near where the metal and plastic meets ... maybe from there? ... hmmm

i think this one is a rebuildable one .. at least that's what they said in the shop ... may take it by and have them take a look .. seems to be coming from between the two metal bands close to the bottom of the unit ... will for sure pick up a few extras ... at the shop though they are quite a bit more then 3$ ... maybe one for spare then start ordering online ...

The place where the two pieces meet is where the base meets the tank, This section needs to be very tight to help prevent leaking on most of the ones I have seen. Give it a twist to make sure its tight, if it is and has a warranty, take it back to the shop and ask if they can replace it for you under warranty, then get to ordering some backups from one of the vendors here........

i have twisted it down as tight as i can on that joint and now it is a slow leak (would be, sit for a few hours off of the battery and a ring of juice would be on the table ... now it can sit over night off the battery and will be wet around the seam in one area but not enough to leak out onto the table) ...

finishing up the fluid that is in there more then will take it by the shop and see what they say .. in the mean time been looking through the vendors .. still just as confused .. hah! ... i like the thought of a rebuild-able one... but i like the idea even more of one that doesn't leak even if that means i have to replace it after a bit ... i do not really need one that holds a lot of fluid .. this one is 1.6 and will likely take me a few days to go through that amount ...

You can get an eGo Twist, if you want, but if you really enjoy this hobby, you're just going to upgrade from there again anyway. Just make the jump and go get yourself a Vamo V2, a few tanks, and some replacement cartos, and be done with the new purchases (outside of juice) for a long time. This is a setup you can grow and learn with, and will keep you happy for a long time.

If you do go this route - hell, even if you don't - go check out PBusardo's review of the Vamo V2 to get a nice, comprehensive overview of what the thing's capable of.

Oh, and the reason I said go get tanks is because clearomizers are total crap. They leak, they don't wick, the flavors are muted, they're fiddly, etc. Just an all-around PITA. Whereas a tank, once you're good at filling them, (here's a video for the best method I've found, and the only one I use), they last all damn day with no mess (they will not leak, esp. those Boges I recommended above), dry hits are a thing of the past, just wonderful plume of flavorful vapor all the time. I cannot say enough good things about them. Their only downside is that they are a bit more expensive than most clearos, but hey, in this world you get what you pay for.

a tank setup does look better ... thats a lot of fluid though ... i am going from a hookah that i would smoke twice a week .. and a tobacco pipe that would be 3 to 4 times a week ... so a container that full would likely last me a few weeks before refilling.

As long as the tank is either glass or high-quality plastic, you're fine no matter what you put in there. If they're the cheaper models, just steer clear of the cinnamons and citruses and you'll be fine. Those juices tend to crack tanks not made to be able to withstand them.

Edit: They do also make tanks in the 3.5mL size, as opposed to those 6 mL beasts.

I am having the same issue with mine.... Not a big leak, hardly noticable... But it's there. I took it all aprt, thinking I'd check out the o-rings, but they looked ok.

Might have something to do with the entire setup was under 30 bucks? ;) lol. "Get what you paid for" comes to mind. But no big deal. I'll stop by a local shop and grab a couple backup tanks, that seems to be where it's coming from. And a couple wicks. Any way you look at it, it's still a HECK of a lot cheaper than smoking. :)

Aside from that, I love the little thing.
