Hello everyone. Been lurking for a while and came here to seek info on best " entry level ' e-cig. I am a half a pack + or - a few a day. Getting to the point to where I wanna quit but tried going cold turkey and just cant. So been watching tons of youtube videos reading here and I think I got the basics down. I considered something similar to the Blu E-Cigs but dont sound like a solid fit for me. But got to looking on ebay and watching videos and seen a few I would post here to seek some info on what I should get from people who know more than me. I cant go out and spend $100 ( right now ) but I found this on ebay and seeing if this would be a good beginner set up. Links are below. I heard good things about the twist so considering that kit. With the CE-4 what type of maintenance is required if any ? Below are the two links for the kits that I found would you guys recommend or not recommend whats below?

Welcome Jeep...

To be honest, unless the seller is a vaping product vendor, I'd stay the hell away from eBay and look at starter kits from actual vaping vendors... here's a few good starter kits for under $35.

eGo 650mah CE4 Kit

"Bare Bones" Starter Kit - MyFreedomSmokes.com

All clearomizers eventually need replacement heads, so you need to take that into consideration. Brands like Kanger, Anyvape and Vision are well known with replacement coil heads readily available.

I don't think the 1100mah Twist knock off is a bad deal but realize it is not a genuine Joye Twist. I had one of these types and it lasted about 6 months with heavy daily use but I only paid 12 dollars for mine and already had the charger.

I would ditch the 650 and get 2 of the 1100's, you'll be happy for the extra battery life and the variable voltage...

As far as the CE top coil, those are good and should last several weeks if you keep them clean, I didn't see anywhere what the ohms on the CE's were but be sure not to fry them by going too hot. Seems like once you burn your wicks the taste of your liquid is always off.

I would like to also support the My Freedom Smokes vendor, they are a great vendor...I use them often.

The advice State gave you is good. I would go with the ego 650 because you get 2 batteries. Always need backups. Then when your budget allows I would get a backup for your backup. Don't want to be caught with only 1 battery and its not charged or quits working. If you need juice and are on a strict budget, I would go here Best E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Cig Juice - MT Baker Vapor, good prices, fast shipping. Good luck & VAPE ON:vapor:

Honestly, I've heard a lot of good things about this website and their starter kits are pretty reasonable for being starter kits with the tank charger and battery, although I've never ordered from there http://www.venerablevaping.com/eGo-Everything_c_13.html. Also, they got a few different colors if you aren't interested in the basic black, but there are always all kinds of options.

Ya know... I don't want to leave you hanging here, so I'll pass on a few bits of help.

Clearomizers or "Clearos" are liquid containers with a replaceable coil and wick assembly called a coil head or just a head. Along with the clearo tank itself, these need to be cleaned every few tank-fulls. Depending on the juice you use, they may need to be cleaned every day, or every few days... but they do need to be cleaned.
Eventually, coil heads wear out and either need to be rebuilt - re-wicked and even re-coiled. If you don't know how to do this yet, then you simply replace them. A package of 5 coil heads are typically under $10.

Try and get batteries that are 510/eGo threaded so you can use the latest in clearos, cartomizers and maybe eventually carto tanks. Also seriously consider getting "pass-through" batteries... they can be charged while you are using them, assuming they are not completely discharged.
It's always a good idea to have more than one battery... which is why I linked you to that kit with two eGo/510 batts.

If you're on a tight budge, look for juice vendors that have samples and even try out give-aways. Mount Baker Vapor sells 15ml bottles for the price most others sell 10 ml bottles for.

Last thing... Instead of giving you links to the same place... I'm tying to spread it out a bit so you have a broader selection of what vendors carry. This is not a list of my favorite vendors, just ones that popped up when I did google searches.

While I was typing away, it looks like a couple members covered some of the same things I did... excellent, variety. I'll leave what I've said as is, but, I will give you your first "like". ;-)

Cheers,
C

Thank you everyone. I still havent decided what I want. A part of me wants to go and get great equipment no matter the cost but a part of me wants to tip toe into it to see if its for me. Right now budget dont allow me to buy the finer equipment due to not working full time thanks to health reasons. So I may " tip toe in " and just go with something I can easily afford and later when budget allows I can upgrade. End of the month is the worst for me. I think im gonna go with

eGo 650mAh w/ CE4 Clearomizer Blister Pack Starter Kit - MyFreedomSmokes.com

The battery has variable voltage 650mah battery with ce4 clearomizer. When I can afford it ( hopefully early next month ) I will look into getting an extra battery or two maybe a larger size ( unless someone wants to donate one hah  )

But I been researching and think along with my initial purchase I need to upgrade the clearomizer to a nice rebuildable one. Considering the EVOD, CE5 Spring Loaded,Mini Vivi Novi, etc. To many to choose from. I need to research more about the ohms and clearomizers and batteries

Then comes to the juice. Sense im a Marlboro Light smoker considering getting the Us Light over @ freedomsmokes . Or maybe getting the 3ml sampler pack. And trying them all .

Then comes to the juice.

I know it's easy to get wrapped up in the chat about Provari's, mechanical mods, rebuildables, etc., but it's definitely possible to get a quality vape that will end your desire for cigarettes without breaking the bank.

I look at it like the game of golf. Will spending thousands of dollars on equipment make you play better? Perhaps a little. Can you go out on the course with a set of clubs that you found at a yard sale for $50 and still love and enjoy the game? Definitely.

Many, many people vape with eGo's and an attached prefilled cartomizer or a clearomizer and are perfectly happy. The important thing is that you aren't smoking anymore.

If I could offer one suggestion, however, it would be this: see if you can find a way to purchase two batteries instead of one. If you only have one and it needs a charge you are periodically going to have to do some waiting for the recharge to complete. Not being able to vape for a couple of hours while needing your nic fix will make you consider a quick drive to the nearest convenience store for a pack of smokes. If you have a backup battery you will still be able to continue vaping with one while you have the other plugged in.

Best of luck, and let the community here know if you have questions or need help with anything. We've all been beginners who have struggled to quit smoking at one point; many of us (myself included) have been there a few times.

EDIT: I just realized that I already suggested a second battery earlier in this thread and am repeating myself. Sorry, I'm tired.

Yes, it's a good deal but it's shipping from China and it'll take a while. Plus, there's the issue of buying juice from China. The blister pack from myfreedom smokes is really a great starter. I gave 2 to a friend to get him off South Beach smokes and it's working. He's about to make his second juice buy from Cherryvape.

Anyway, get the blister pack and get some juice. Myfreedomsmokes ships really fast. You'll be vaping in no time. Just make sure you get juice that's strong enough for your nicotine needs. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

ETA i went back and read your first post. Probably 12mg is as high as you need to go and 6mg may be enough.

Rule number one DO NOT ORDER ANY VAPING PRODUCT FROM EBAY OR AMAZON. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ORDER FROM A REPUTABLE DEALER OR COMPANY.

It is very easy to get caught up in this financially. I myself have gone a little overboard but you will learn once you get started. I haven't read all of the replies to this but I would imagine some have told you about Fast Tech. If not I will. FastTech - Gadgets and Electronics . Their prices are completely awesome. The thing that sucks is their shipping time of 8-11 days on delivery. The 2 upsides are -free shipping and a 90 day return policy. Another good place is discountvaper.com . Their prices are reasonable and their delivery time is 3 days. Their downside is their return policy of DOA.

For your juices. Since you are a beginner I would go to The Vapor Room.net | Vaporize Nicotine | E Cig Atomizers . you get a free 15ml of juice of your choice with your first order as a new customer..

As for batteries from experience I would go with a standard EGO C 1000mAh pass through. Get 2 that way you can use one while charging the other.

Tanks... I am a EGO Kanger EVOD person. They are less messy to fill and changing out the Atomizer is simple. Fast Tech has them 5 for 12.00, 7 for 15.00 or 12 for 21.00. They also have the atomizers at 1.8-2.6ohms 5 for 5.00. Mind you EVODS anywhere else are 6.00 a piece and a 5 pack of atomizers are 10.00 - 12.00.

Juice.... Juices come in what they call PG/VG levels. The more VG the thicker the juice. A lot of people get 50/50. I prefer 70/30 or 75/25 but everyone's preference is different.

I hope this helps.

Hey all, I'm all new to this too and started browsing around. Everything I search seems to pop up the eGo brand and to me the eGo-T 1100mah sounds like something I would like and would be satisfied with. My main reason for trying the vaporizers is because I'm going to be flying from Nashville to Atlanta (roundtrip) in a week and a half and I wanted something for that period of time where I'm unable smoke a traditional cigarette. Both of my flights have 1 stop and that puts me in the airport and air for a good 6 hrs each time. I found a site with an eGo starter kit however I don't think it is a true Joye eGo brand but I'm not certain. I've browsed some of your threads and some of you say the knock-offs work fine for you. Can anyone tell me if they have been to this site and know if it is a reasonable knock-off? It's in my price range and will get the job done until I can do a little more research and find a better one. The site is: 1100mAh Twin EGO-CE4 Red Starter Kit with eGo Case - Cuecig.com

I just noticed that the eGo-T starter kit 1100mah is not available anymore...I should have bought it earlier! However the 900mah and 650mah twin kits are available on the site above. So I guess I will be going with the eGo-T ce4 900 mah just wanted to make sure I was going to purchase a decent vaporizer since I'm like the blind leading the blind here.
