Hi, there. I'm new to these forums and to vaping - Friday marks four months tobacco free!

Currently I'm using an ego twist which works fine, but the battery just doesn't last long enough. I've been looking at the mods and, to be blunt, they are quite large and end up looking quite phallic to me. Being a lady, I just can't do it. My question is, is there a mod that's a bit slimmer? I know there aren't any as small as an ego, but maybe something that's not so...phallic. :glare:

I also use a Kanger Protank 2, which I love. My husband recently upgraded to a Kanger Unitank, and within 24 hours, the tank clouded up and has some sort of a film over it. After taking it to the store he bought it from, they determined it was the liquid he used that was too acidic they said. Two things - first, is there anything that can be done to clean the tank? The folks at the store said it's junk now, but after spending close to $30 on it, the last thing we want to do is buy another tank. Second, if the juice is so acidic that it "melts" the plastic, is it okay to inhale?

Any input/advice on either subject is greatly appreciated!

The tank could be used if your certain the juice your running won't etch it , mostly because you may not be able to tell being that it's already cloudy, I would give it a thorough cleaning, it may be possible to polish the inside but not sure if it's worth it, as far as a longer lasting battery maybe a mod that has a mini form factor may work for you such as a zmax mini , or provari mini ($$) also have you considered a itaste mvp.

I would take a look at the MVP 2.
Decidedly non-phallic with its box shape.
Very nice mod as well. I like mine very much.
Rugged build, huge battery life... affordable as well.
It can also charge your cell-phone :2cool:
It looks way smaller in person than on pics or videos.

+1 on the tank-cracking juices.
Here's a mega-thread/list about them: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-juices-flavors-crack-tanks-ce2s-clearos.html
I personally don't bother with plastic tanks because of that.
Buy glass... like the protank II and never think about that issue again.

Yeah, acidic e liquids give the plastic clearos/tanks a frosted look oh and they can crack. 1 or 2 of mine went that way. There is a list somewhere online that describes the types of liquids that can damage plastic tanks. Lots of people are now using glass tanks which are easily available from most good vendors. A Protank II is a good choice because the glass tank can be replaced, not that you ever need to replace it, unless it gets smashed !. Funny but these types of tanks have only been available for a few months now, well except for rebuildables.

Hi Starsha and welcome to ECF!!

In regards to looking for a battery that will last longer without being a huge device, you may want to try something like a spinner with a 1300mah battery. That should get you trough the day depending how much you vape, if your a light to medium vaper you could probably get a couple days out of it.

Any e juices that are citrus or cinnamon based will eat into a plastic tank and the way around that is to use a glass tank.

Hope this helps and good luck.

I never knew that about some juices never came across it. Probably because I dont use citrus based flavors. Also you can clear up any plastic with a thing called micro mesh. Its basically a bunch of different fine sandpapers. Its a pain in the .... and probably isnt worth it but it is possible. If i remember right the sandpapers are 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, 5000, something like that. But like I said its a pain and time consuming.

Hello Starsha,

Welcome to ECF!:vapor:

If you're wanting larger battery life you're probably going to have to get a bigger battery. Which is why most of options you're looking at for longer battery life are larger mods. I haven't seen a legitimate an ego style battery get to far away from the 1000mAh range. Maybe look into getting a mod that uses 18350's (which is a size/name of battery, like saying AA or AAA batteries)? You could keep an extra 18350 with you and throw it in when the other dies. Look into the Provari Mini that's a pretty small mod, if that's too big for you then maybe just stick with multiple ego style batteries. If you stick with the ego style batteries look into the iTaste VV v3 (iTaste Variable Voltage Version 3) it's my "on the go" battery I love it.:D

As far as the tank goes... Unfortunately I would just trash it if the corroded parts of the tank cant be replaced. Any corrosion that's occurred could leak into the next juice that's put in it and I personally wouldn't want to chance vaping dissolved plastic:(

Don't get discouraged by this tank cracking MANY of us have made this mistake, before learning what juices contain the chemicals that will dissolve more porous plastics. Just hang in there, everyone has bad vape days. Sometimes there is a steep learning curve to vaping but with the help of ecf and other sources you'll be a pro before before you know it!

Wow, thank you everyone for the quick replies! I didn't know the clouding and cracking was such a common problem. Both the store we bought the tank from and the store we buy our juices from were flabbergasted when we brought the tank in. They'd never seen it before, so I thought it was some sort of freak occurrence. I'm pretty bummed that this happened on a brand new tank. We were looking for a Protank 2, but there was none to be found anywhere in town. I guess I'll just have to buy one online.

I was looking at the Joyetech evic but I'm still concerned about the size of it. I saw the boxy guys and didn't think too much of them, but that's pretty neat to be able to charge a cell phone with the MVP 2! Definitely worth looking into! Thank you!!

We use a juice that's made locally - Vapure. We only use VG base, 11mg nicotine. Apparently, some of their flavors are too acidic and can't be used with certain tanks or it will either cause the melting he got in the Unitank, or will deteriorate the glue on the Protank 1. My big concern is should be inhaled? It seems kind of dicey.

I have heard both sides of people saying it is not safe and safe to vape. At this point, I simply just try to avoid these juices. Just because i wonder if it dissolves plastics what will it do to me? I have not seen any studies, research, or anything like that on the topic so i just stay clear out of my own personal safety concerns.

You can get skins for many of the mods, custom decorated tanks, drip tips, charms. It's not hard to pretty them up. I'm dropping hint's for an mvp2 in blue for a Christmas prezzie.

simplest solution if you are happy with your device other than the battery life, buy a spare ego to carry along and swap out when you need to charge the first one.

another option is epipe type devices, usually they are 18350 powered, so as mentioned before can carry extra batteries with you (in a protective case of some sort, don't want them shorting out on change or metal objects in your pocket/purse/etc). but then again they aren't very girly looking either.

as far as the tank, not sure why Kanger took a step backwards when they made the unitank, i guess maybe too many complaints of broken glass from dropped devices, but honestly, if you drop a plastic device it can easily crack too, have seen it happen many times. or possibly to reduce the weight, a protank is a bit top heavy for an ego battery, but i haven't had a chance to handle the unitank to feel the weight difference.

the tank frosting and or cracking from the juice is due to the juice reacting with the plastic, no harmful effects on the human body at all.
