Hello everyone... I am a new menber to the forum although I have been lurking on the forums for a while. I had bought a cheap e-cig from a tobacco shop... I used it for a bit and I liked it... but it wasn't as satisfying when we were drinking... since we chain smoke when we are drinking... well we never got back to them... I am pregnant now so not drinking and I have been wanting to get back to e-cigs so I figured now is as good a time as any...

So looking for a good new kit to start over with... one I can stick with for a while... I have been looking at the ego types and was wondering the differences between them... like how are the differences between ego and ego-t... how often do you have to change/refill cartridges... are there tanks you can put on the ego?

Since you are pregnant I do not recommend vaping nicotine ... If you are going to vape please do so with zero nicotine juice for the sake of your unborn child.

A KR808D-1 sounds like it could be a good starter kit for you, it is a two piece PV which utilizes a cartomizer which you would fill the the juice of your choice, and comes with a automatic or manual battery, whichever of these two you prefer.

Zero nicotine juice is available at most juice vendor sites .... Good luck to you and your coming bundle of joy :D

Welcome and good luck with the future hatchling.

Ego uses a cartomizer and you fill up into the polyfill. Ego-T uses a tank to store juice and that wicks to the atomizer as required. Had a couple of both and it is a good start.

If it is too big then look into getting a PCC in a say a KR808D-1 threading. Smaller form factor, but gives you a charge on the go.

forgot to answer about the Ego ..... I have a few of these ie: Ego T, which is blank upon purchase and you would fill and refill them with whatever juice you like. They are easy to fill, and pretty easy to use although the performance and opinions on Tanks vary by user.

I have no problem with mine, and do enjoy it on the occasions that I decide to use it ... The Ego on a whole is known for it's longer battery life. Standard Ego's are 650mah, and these batts can last 5-8 hours depending on how much you vape. The standard Ego uses an Atomizer which you would either direct drip your juice into, or you can use pre-fill cartridges which suck imo ....

The Tank system uses a plastic tank with no filler, and feeds the juice directly on to the atomizer. The Ego batteries comes in different sizes/mah rating which relate directly to the longevity of your battery between charges. Aside from 650mah, there is 900 and 1100 mah batteries.... again the more mah a battery has, the longer it lasts.

Actually the nicotine itself is as harmful as cafiene... it has already been proven that nicotine patches and gums are safe to use while pregnant... http://www.pregnancy.org/article/nicotine-patch-ok-pregnant-women so vaping nicotine is ok... I smoked through all 5 of my other pregnancies... (will ignore all flames on this)

What has been quoted is the safety guidelines for nicotine , they arent really telling you just advising so if you know different go with your view on it, this forum is only to help people safely.

I understand that... but most drs are really happy to get women to switch to something other than smoking during pregnancy... and it is much much safer for everyone... my dr will be thrilled if I start vaping again... he's one that just repeats quit smoking since he knows that for most people just telling them to quit won't make them actually do it.

Hi and welcome! I started vaping in Nov. '11 and started with the E-Power 14650 using the Resurrector cartomizers. I definitely wanted something that held a good bit of juice and had a good battery. I had read somewhere on here that the Ego batteries are expensive but can't remember what model they were referring to. It may not be true for all Egos. The batteries for the E-power are only $4-5.

Good luck with your vaping journey and the baby!!

Welcome to ECF. I hate to be the downer here but I would seriously consider talking to your Doctor about switching to vaping in the middle of a pregnancy. I know my wife smoked and my doctor actually recommended NOT quitting cold turkey as the withdrawals could actually cause shock in the fetus. She cut way down as a result and we have a very healthy kiddo so I am assuming it was sound advice. There are many more things in cigarettes than nicotine that you are addicted to that could cause withdrawals, and if you do choose to vape still go with very low or 0 nicotine levels and get your Doctor involved in case of complications.

I have already discussed it with my dr... the nicotine isn't the bad stuff... its everything else... and I had no withdrawals when I switched before... since nicotine gums and patches have been approved for pregnant women... vaping is approved as well... I did not start this thread to be hassled about nicotine use while I'm pregnant... as I said I smoked through 5 other pregnancies and have 5 very healthy kids... I am switching to vaping because I would prefer it... I enjoyed it when I did before and had almost no problems with dropping my analogs except when drinking and craved a stronger flavor... I am asking simple advice but if I can't get it here I will go somewhere else for it... I have been lurking on this forum for several months and it seemed like a good community to get involved in... but there are others

My mistake I just like to err on the side of caution no offense was intended. To answer your question the ego is a great device. They are offered with a tank setup as variants although most prefer boge 2.0 cartomizers for ease of use. The mah rating works out to about 1 hour per 100mah so the 900mah will give about 9 hours of vaping.

I'm mobile or I would post links to what I'm talking about.

It wasn't just you... there were other actually more direct about it than you were... but I have done my research into it... if nicotine use (patches, gums) are ok for me there is no reason vaping shouldn't be ok... I posted a link on the first page about that...

Back to topic... thanks for the info on the ego... I'm just trying to figure out if I would prefer the tank or carto... if I get the ego can I use a tank on it? Like be able to switch it to a tank? Without a mod or anything
