Hows it goin my name is tony, just dropping by to say hi to all. I've just started vaping for a couple days with a good friend of mine and he showed me this forum. Since then I haven't had a craving for a black and mild!
There's alot to learn in this but I'm sure with continued following of ecf I'll learn alot more.If anyone can give me some tips on how to get started on getting my own i would really appreciate that thank you.

Review product here:
THE EGO TWIST IS A GAME CHANGER - YouTube
BTW this reviewer has been vaping for 3 years last I heard, pretty much since the beginning (of the modern vaping era) back when e-cigs kinda sucked. He knows his stuff. He has enough products to fill a store shelf easy and has tested them all.

Buy it cheapest here (a reputable dealer):
AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | AltSmoke.com | eGo-C Twist Battery

The Volt and KGO are decent suggestions but they are 3.6 and 4.1 volt devices respectively. No variably voltage. The EGO Twist has a knob on the bottom of the battery that lets you change the voltage from an anemic 3.2 volts to a beefy 4.8 volts. Most vapers sit just proud of 4 volts as their sweet spot.

Why pay the tiny bit of extra money the ego twist? It's variable voltage and in a range where most people end up using anyway even if that have a more power and many times more expensive unit. The batteries will last you 2 days probably before you charge them again, but at least 24 hours and you'll have 2 in case you forget to charge, you lose one, what have you? EGO is the most popular brand and this particular model is the #1 brand right now on ECF, if everyone doesn't have one yet, they are thinking about getting one. It's also a 510 connection which is the most popular connection for atomizers/cartomizers/clearomizers etc... so it is also a very versatile device so it will last you for a good year or two (the service life of most Lithium Ion batteries). Don't worry about the startup cost, you're not going to be buying smokes every day any more so it will pay for itself and you'll be putting money in the bank in a month or less.

Get two of these Ego Twist batteries in any color you like (mix and match if you want to keep track of which one's which. Stainless steel is probably the best, black being the second best as far as durability/versatility - white would be the worst cuz dirt is whack!) in the 1000mah size. Grab an ego Wall/USB charger for 5 bucks (probably from the same dealer you get juice from since they want $8 at altsmoke) and then pick what kind of atomizer, cartomizer, or clearomizer you would like to try out. Boge cartomizer vape decent and you can clean them and they last for months easy. Smoktech cartos have the best vapor production but the 1.7 ohm might be a bad choice for the higher ranges of voltage that the Twist can achieve. A safer bet is to go with a Stardust (Vision Clearomizer), or the even better Vision Vivi Nova (which you can rebuild if you take the time to learn here ( Vaping Estarra - YouTube ). You'll need to get some wire and wick for it. Estarra can help you there (at the channel above). Feel free to leave him a comment and he'll answer you, he's an ECF member.

You'll also want to check this out for what ohm resistance is going to be acceptable to use at what voltage since you'll have a variable voltage device (that is all the rage in this community right now, I might add).

Also if you want a quick crash course on vaping you are welcome to check out my blog and my experience quitting smoking here:

And now you have all you need. Go forth into the world and vape, my child.

Welcome to ECF! There's lots of good info here. Like Jixchel said, first we need to know what you're looking for to know what to suggest.

I would suggest one thing though. Just reading the other threads here in the New Members forum alone will give you a good start because most new people ask the same basic questions at first.

The batteries will last you 2 days probably before you charge them again, but at least 24 hours .....

How can the twist battery last longer than the 1000mah non twist ego battery?

Rule of thumb is 100 mah = 1 hour vaping time, so to say a 1000 mah battery will last a day or two is stretching it unless you are a very light vaper.

.... EGO is the most popular brand and this particular model is the #1 brand right now on ECF, if everyone doesn't have one yet, they are thinking about getting one.

While it might be a popular brand, to say that everyone either has one or wants one is going overboard, I personally don't want another pv that I can't change the battery in, making it cost more in the long run.
