Hello All,

I stumbled upon this site doing research about e-cigs (imagine that...) I'm 33 years old now and was a pack a day smoker since I was 16. After hearing the success stories of a few friends who were able to quit using e-cigs (and the deaths of several relatives to cancer), I decided to give it a try.

Started out with a cheap starter kit that broke on the second day. Then, I went to a store that had good reviews online and they set me up with the KangerTech EVOD BCC starter kit. That kit has performed much better. It has definitely been an adjustment, but I'm glad that I've stuck with it. I've still been smoking analogs, but the amount has decreased to 1 - 3 per day. Yesterday I only had one (today also).

Other than the obvious reason being that these seem to be a lot healthier than analogs, I also switched for the convenience of being able to use them almost anywhere. I travel extensively for work and that is probably a worst case scenario for a smoker. You can't smoke in many airports nowadays and if you are ever able to find a smoking room in a hotel, it is most likely a rundown room with a double bed. And don't even think about it in a rental car.

Having traveled the last two weeks, I can't even explain how much stress vaping has relieved in my life. Instead of standing outside at the airport chain smoking until I'm dizzy, I can sit there and vape inside at my leisure. I still try to keep it pretty incognito as I don't want to be the one responsible for it getting banned. Also, my coworkers have been very receptive of me vaping in the company vehicles, where smoking was not allowed.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling. Thanks for having me. I hope to continue learning a lot from this community and hope that I can contribute as well. :toast:

Cheers,

TM

Welcome from a fellow NC'er! Today's my first day as member man but I've been looking around on here quite a bit, and should hopefully be getting my first real setup in the mail tomorrow. One thing you mentioned is really easy for me to relate to- the airport situation. I've also smoked at least a pack a day since I was 16 and will never forget how stressful it was in the airport looking for a smoking lobby or dreading going through security because I knew I wouldn't be able to go back out to smoke... or going nuts as soon as I got off the plane following a 12 hour flight. Life in general is more enjoyable when you can enjoy your little vice without it also being a major source of stress in life. I still smoke, but it's quite a bit less, and I'm quite a bit happier for it.

Welcome and congrats! Here's my advice... Don't be afraid to up your nic level I found it helped with the cravings up to 24mg and you'll never look back to the anolog. Also wish someone had told me about reo mods earlier. Here's the only setup you'll ever need... Reo grand, rm2 atomizer, coil a bag of cotton balls and a couple of good aw imr 18650 batteries with charger. You'll be loving life!
As a new vaper I spent so much money on the hunt for the best setup. The above is IMO better than all the rest.

Just so you know here's the list I've tried so this is an educated opinion.

Ego with pro tanks and vivi
Eroll
Evic
KTS mod
Provari x2 (that's right sold those)
MVP

And reo is the answer
