Hello, I am new here and this is my first post. My wife and I both smoke. I smoke Marlboro Reds and she Marlboro NXT. We are wanting to try vape. I want a pen style. I like to smoke, the hit feels great and I like the flavor of my reds. For me its all about the hit. I just want that and none of all of the other crap from a cigarette, that's why I want to give vape a try.

I did a lot of reading on these forums and seen all of the FAQ'S. We have not been to our local suppliers to see what they have to offer and prices. I am torn between the topic of flavor for the liquid. Members here say the straight tasting tobacco flavors are not good and to try a flavor. I do not know if I can go for anything other than something that wont taste a little like a like a red (I know it will not be close at all)

We are going to the supplier store today and looking at some stuff. Anything I need to keep in mind when we go?

Hi and welcome to ECF! Since you have been reading and looking online, I hope you got a good idea of pricing on items-some B&M stores can be comparable and some seem to charge way too much-I understand pricing will be higher due to overhead at a B&M, but just be cautious-they likely won't beat online prices, but don't get taken advantage of either. Tobacco flavors can be good-I like Indigo and would be willing to try Backwoods Brew-taste is very, very subjective-some people start with tobacco, and then switch to other flavors-as you go on your journey, just remember taste and hardware is personal and subjective-we all have our favorites, you and your wife will develop yours. Vendors online also offer sample sizes too-experiment with small purchases if you can with a good rep vendor. Hope your B&M has a taste bar so you two can sit down and try thing-most do:) TObacco flavors also don't taste 100% identical to a burning cig-not that the liquids taste bad-it's just different and imho-they taste better oh so much better actually-that is often the issue with beginners and why a lot don't like because they expect it to taste identical. And once your taste and smell come back, well there are just some very good non tobacco flavors out there! Just remember have fun and explore and experiment-come here, read up more and more, you might have equipment issues at first-ask questions and don't give up-it takes time sometimes and there is a learning curve that may be frustrating until you get more experience. Welcome again!

I gave up the Winston Red Box 100's for Blu's Vanilla as when I made the time to "make my own", I used Smokers Pride Vanilla pipe tobacco. I had to buy 3 Blu starter kits, just to keep the batt's in supply.

After making the quick switch to Volt 78mm batt's and a few 650 lg batt's, I quickly got into the juices and now use Zeus juices mostly. Now its Bubble Gum, Strawberry Cotton Candy and Cherry all mixed at 9 Nic. When from 18 Nic down to 12 Nic real fast and 9 Nic seems to work the best for me as most flavors taste better at that level. I like using just the carto's the best as the tanks i have used don't last long and some discolor and off flavor the juices within 2-3 days at best. Pain and a waste to discard the juice and coils so much.

Hello LesoVerin, If you can find Hangsen USA mix, or Lizard Juice Cowboy that tastes very close to a Red. I have a customer that buys lumber at my work. He smoked 4 to 5 packs a day, and has been smoke free for 6 days now. Good luck to you and your beloved. :)

Drink water...even when you don't want to drink it.

I'm a dripper so it's important for me to keep my wicks wet if I don't wanna suffer. Kinda forgot that part myself when the headache hit.

I use to dip but now I quit and pure smoker been smoke free for 3 months should I say vaper

I thought exactly the same as you. I loved smoking and simply did not want to quit. After I got pulled in by all the hype of my friends I decided to give it a shot and purchased a cheap £20 starter kit which came with a free tobacco ejuice. I was sorely disappointed as it had a strong liquorice flavor, which I hate, so I purchased a few other flavours, mainly fruits and sweet flavors, and since then I have been hooked and quickly gave up analogs soon after. I smoked for 17 years and was not even trying to quit but now I love sampling all the different flavors. I would not however ever purchase any tobacco flavour again. Trust me when I say that you will soon forget about the taste of an analogue when you can taste such beautiful flavors. Now only 6 month on and I have still not smoked an analogue and have purchased a high end AVP device. Just buy a cheap kit and give it a go.

Hey man welcome. I was one of the few who actually could not vape the fruits and the cakes and the candies. I had to have something with a "similar" taste to an analog. I searched and I spent a lot of money.. I have realized that, performance, in an e-liquid is what I am after. A good throat hit. Something neutral in flavor. The search for the best replica is over. In fact I have found something that satisfies and that I look forward to MORE than I did cigs.... Having reliable equipment is also a big part of the performance part for me. Once I realized this, I found that I could vape just about anything flavor wise as long as it performed well.

This is a great thread that explained what I am saying in great detail, and to whom I give the credit for helping me understand what I was after.
