Hello everybody,
I begun kicking a 20yr, pack and half a day, full flavored (marb reds or home stuffed american spirit tobacco in vera cruz tubes) cig habit ~63 days ago. As of this moment, my last analog was burned the day I received my gear. Though I haven't done any posting here during this, I did use the site to help select my first mod and tank combo. I began with, and still use daily, an evic supreme and a protank III. I have been using Mt. Baker as my primary juice supplier and have found through trial and error that I really enjoy the vanilla e-juices. I also like vaping queenside by 5 pawns and recently have discovered big willy's custard which is my current ADV. I now have quite the tank collection growing as my vaping journey has led me to buy 2 nautilus (nautili?), a joyetech delta, a aerotank mega, a aerotank V2, an iclear XI, and most recently a nautilus mini. Also, I have a iclear 30S as my evic's 510 had stripped and I picked up a innokin VTR combo at a local B&M to get me through until my replacement parts were delivered.
Figured it was time to introduce myself and say thanks to everyone for unknowingly helping me quit the analogs.
So thank you all,
Jeremy

Thanks for the welcomes everyone.
Tinkie, I contemplated shooting out a intro post the day I registered back in June but I was very "green" and didn't want to make too big a fool of myself.
Slum, Well according to my quitting tracker app I use I've "saved" $511.55. Somehow my bank account doesn't reflect that :). It's all good though. I feel so much better already and my better half is actually supporting the new habit as I am no longer smoking in the house and her clothes no longer stink of stale smoke.
Iamthevoice, I can almost here Steve Irwin saying, look....its a pack of nautili in there natural habitat, in my head. :)

Welcome aboard my friend!!
And be warned, for it's only the beginning. It's a lie that vaping saves money, you'll realize it when you looked at your vaping gears collection someday lol

Congrats on kicking it. I kicked 43 year habit vaping. I have a question for you. What do you think of your XI?
Hey gpc2012,
Thanks for the grats. People like you, myself, and most others on here are proof that all the naysayers of using vaping as a form of tobacco cessation are wrong.
My experience with the XI has been ok. Not bad by any means, but nothing spectacular.
Versus my other tanks I have listed in post 1, I would say my XI's coils have lasted longer than the others. I believe this is probably due to the fact that it has primarily only been used for sampling new juices and free samples (Mt.Baker for the win). The first few days I owned it I did carry it around but due to some of the issues ill list it has become more of my stay at home sampler tank. I do like the swiveling drip tip it came with although the hole in it is kinda tight for the draws I like to take. Also, in my opinion, it is a nice looking tank when it is fully assembled. It has never flooded, and I have never had a dry hit from it while using it under 9w. I have cranked it up over 10w before for testing purposes and it will give dry hits with the 1.8ohm coils I use in it. It also fits my VTR nicely without having to use the adapter.
The issues that make me not want to carry it around with me anymore have been that the glass is thinner and feels more delicate than the kanger and aspire products. It's volume increments have all but faded away just by rinsing it in hot water in my kitchen sink. Also, I haven't lost mine yet, but there are seals that sit on each end of the glass that could easily be lost down the drain if you weren't using a strainer while cleaning. Also versus my other tanks, the lack of airflow control makes for a very tight draw and meager vapor production. I'm using tanks and I'm not chasing clouds but this has a negative impact on flavor production. I guess I've been spoiled with airflow control and unfortunately neither of my innokin tanks have it. One last thing that I don't really like about this tank is it consistently leaves juice on my evics and VTR's 510 connector. I have changed coils in it multiple times and it has left a bubble of juice every time I've used it since day 1 with the coil that was factory installed. Not so much juice I feared that it would damage my equipment, but enough to catch my attention.
My XI still gets used on occasion, but not much in comparison to my others. And I make sure to clean my mod well after.

Hi there. Your quote really grabbed me. "People like you, myself, and most others on here are proof that all the naysayers of using vaping as a form of tobacco cessation are wrong." That is so true. I've tried quitting a few times over the 31 years I smoked, and obviously failed. The longest was with the help of medication (6 or 7 months), but it was HORRIBLE. I was depressed, missed it so much, etc. Vaping has been so satisfying. It's only been a few weeks, but I'm enjoying it so much, liking the support of the forum, and love my new toys! I was a menthol smoker, which I read is really hard to quit because of the flavor if you love it, so having a nice minty vape with the bonus of a nice aftertaste instead of tasting like I licked an ashtray is awesome! Cigarettes sound so gross to me now.

I also use the VTR, I love it. my XI's seem to have to airy of a draw, I can crank them way up, but I just don't feel like I'm getting that much from it. I've tried the 1.5, 1.8. and the 2.0 ohm coils with not much difference. My wife likes the way it hits. I've gotten hooked on the 30s. The only think with it is that when it's almost empty you can get dry hits unless you kind of roll it around and get the juice in the wicks. I'm going to give you a couple of links the last one is my juice guy's thread on the forum. You have to wait till you have 15 posts to go there. But once you get your posts give Bionic a look. His juice is amazing.

DesertVapes Electronic Cigarettes and Supply Hardware great prices forum registered supplier

http://www.vaporbeast.com/ Hardware good prices forum registered supplier

Bionic Vapor – Welcome Juice supplier, my opinion the best I've found for quality and flavor.

Bionic Vapor Bionics forum thread (you need 15 posts to go here)

Good for you, keep it up. I'm over 4 1/2 months analog free and it's never been easier.

Hey jumphour,
I was honestly shocked the first time I read that there was no evidence to support vaping as a tobacco cessation path. I had tried to quit numerous times in the last ten years of my 20 year smoking habit with little (longest was 9 months) to no success. Like you I was going through withdraw, but for me I was more tense and generally angry then depressed. When I could replay my previous arguments in my mind and think man I was a jerk and what even started this fight, I knew I wasn't going to be able to quit. The very first day of vaping I stopped with the analogs and since I'm still taking in nicotine I'm not snapping at people. The plan is to slowly wean myself down. If the science is showing the vaping didn't make it possible then all I can think is that maybe I was more mentally ready to quit this time. While this maybe true, with my history of not being able to quit, I don't think it would've stuck.
