Sup guys,
I've been vaping for a little over a year now but up until recently I was just using a little eGo kit that I started with. My next upgrade was the Kangertech pro 2 tank. It functioned so much better than my original tank with the tube insert that had to be primed. I never could get it where it wasn't flooding on me all the time. Then I purchased an iTaste MVP 2.0. Idk if it's the internal circuitry or what but the "burn" is so much more smooth and consistent. I've had it a month now and I have yet to even get a hint of a burnt taste. My final upgrade I purchased today was the Kt airflow control valve v2. Man, for $8 this thing really is a game changer. I had gone to the store to purchase the original version. I didn't even know there was a new version till the store check showed it to me. It doesn't thread up and down like the original. It just spins around and exposes a different size opening depending on location. But this valve is awesome. Absolutely no flooding or pooping of and kind. Just smooth quiet consistent smoke with every hit. And the amount of vapor is unlike anything I've experienced first hand. I know it probably doesn't compare to a hand built drip setup but its still awesome. I'm currently running 2.2's but I'm curious what can I do to increase the amount of vapor even more with my current setup? I'm still a little intimidated by drip and really don't want to have to buy an all new setup. Any suggestions?

Noob question. What do you mean by a higher VG?

Here's the short answer:

"PG (propylene glycol) and VG (vegetable glyerine, or glycerol) are ingredients in e-liquid which create the vapor. Both are widely used in a variety of products for human consumption. PG is associated with a stronger “throat hit” but with less visible vapor, whereas VG has a sweetish taste and produces a much more visible vapor. Some vapers find PG irritates their throat and lungs and choose to use VG based e-liquids instead. Some e-liquids contain a blend of both ingredients to balance out the characteristics of each."

Many online vendors give you the option of picking your preferred PG/VG ratio. i.e. 30/70, 50/50, 70/30 or even 100% VG

Hi John,

Welcome to ECF!

You can also rebuild your protank coils, if you're interested. You can wrap much better ones than the stock coils, and get a better performance out of them. Just a few $$ investment in kanthal and cotton balls. There's tons of videos on youtube and threads here. If you don't think you're interested now, save all those stock coils when the give out....you will be interested at some point.

Good luck! :)

You can also add some straight Vg (vegetable glycerin) to your e-liquid to gain more vapor production. This is available from Walmart or CVS Pharmacy inexpensively.

Hi John,

I would second what Susan had mentioned and look into increasing your VG-Vegetable Glycerin concentration when you place your next order for your favorite e-juice. The higher the VG content the more vapor your will produce. The one thing to be aware of is that when you increase your VG ratio the taste of the juice becomes slightly muted since PG is the flavor carrier along with throat hit, balanced with higher nicotine. I myself prefer a higher PG concentration as I'm more about flavor and throat hit. Be aware also that VG is much thicker than PG and will take longer to wick the coil. I suggest starting at 60VG and work your way up.

I appreciate the input guys. I'm def gonna get some lower coils. I was browsing the forum here last night and started looking into posts about rebuilding the coils. That does interest me as I wouldn't have to buy a new setup. I may be mistaken but I believe the shop I purchase my fluid from uses only VG. I know they say they only use nicotine extracted from vegetable instead of tobacco. I'll have to double check though on my next order.

I'm certain that you misunderstood them. They may well use only vegetable glycerin (and no pg) in their e-liquids, but tobacco can not be extracted from vegetables instead of tobacco.

Edit: Actually tobacco can potentially be extracted from certain vegetables, but the quantity required would be price-prohibitive. All vendors who custom mix their e-liquids use liquid nicotine which has be processed from tobacco plants.
