Hi everyone, just wanted to say "Hi" to other members, Ive just joined up to the forum and am looking to learn a little so forgive any daft questions I may ask, lol
I started on e-lite cigs a couple of months ago, getting on not to bad but still seem to be smoking a little, maybe 6-8 cigarettes a day compared to 20 a day for 25 years): so a bit of a positive.

I wanted to find out if I can refill my e-lite cartridges and if so which type of liquid to buy here in the UK?(Hope im aloud to ask)
or learn more about vaping which to be honest I know nothing about or where to start.

Welcome aboard - being pretty new to this game myself I know there is an awful lot to find out; when I started off I didn't even know what I didn't know. This forum is a great resource and centre of support where people do try to be really helpful.

My own experience with cig-a-likes a few years ago was very short lived; the ones I had I discovered it was possible to get the end cap off of the tip and drip in juice but I thruthfully don't know if they are all like that. I'm sure someone with a lot more experience than me will be along shortly to help.

Well done with your achievements so far and really hope you enjoy your time here.

Take a look at this video here, if they are the same as yours ( I believe they are) then there you go:

A paperclip etc could be used for the cap removal.

As far as E Juice, there are thousands to choose from. It would help us if you could be a tad specific about the flavor's you like are interested in. Having said that here is a thread about UK e juice you might review: Good UK E-Liquid suppliers?

I started with a similar type of device, kicked a 20+ year 1-2 pack a day habit as did my wife. Shortly after kicking we upgraded to Ego style batteries, and liquid tanks. A bit bigger but better battery life, more vapor. From there mods can get to be progressively larger.

Cheers Mate

Hi Guys, Thanks so much for the warm welcome, its much appreciated.
Nightshadow thats the brand ive been using, thank you for posting that, I have been using the tobacco version so the red tips. cant believe i have thrown loads of tips away:(

I suffer from Anxiety so quitting smoking was a big deal for me! I wasn't sure what was in the e cigs but it must be better than the chemicals in my Marlborough lites, lol

Does anyone know what E-liquid I can use?is it safe? do I buy it on Amazon? what strength do I buy? and do the little E-liquid bottles come with the little tube to drip them into my old tips like the bottle in the video kindly posted by Nightshadow?

Was it things like this you were wondering about? Over the summer before we left for Spain at home in Scotland our main street seemed to be full of people sucking on things like this. I wasn't into vaping then, wondered what it was all about, and thought "You'd never catch me dead with a thing like that!"

I've had to eat my words - long battery life, plenty juice for me for a day, variable air control so I can get the draft I like - in other words a great vape.

If you are happy with what you have however stick with it so long as it works for you - there really is loads of information about different items of kit available on this forum and folk will be happy to help/answer queries. Just take things at your own pace though......

That's is a lot of topics/questions, more than I can type up for the moment. I would suggest you go to this thread, and read most of the sicky posts (sticky= a pin on the right side) New Members Information

You can use any type of e liquid you choose. If you have any local vape store that is where I would suggest you start. Here we have many that allow you to taste them before you buy, same goes for trying out bigger devices.

The most important thing (for now) is to ensure you get the right strength of e liquid to suit your habit.
If using the device you currently have at a guess I would say anywhere from 12 mg, through 16 mg to 18 mg depending on what type of analogs you used before, (lights/regulars/non filter etc) and how many pack)'s) per day you used.

If for instance you were a lights smoker, at a pack or less per day, then the lower range of mg should do you.
On the other hand if you smoke 4 packs of non filters a day, you may need 24 mg! I smoked lights also (1-2 packs a day), and was ok with 12-16 mg ranges, you may be different however.

It is ok if you need to try a few before you dial it in just right to suit you. If your mg is too high, you will know if you are overdoing it if you get light headed, etc. If it is too low, you will be craving an analog.

There is no guarantee vaping is %100 safe, but there is a %100 guarantee smoking is NOT. What I can tell you is I personally feel vaping is at least 95% safer than smoking. Cigarettes have 4000+ chemicals, and for sure cause cancer, and a plethora of other health issues, some I experienced first hand. E liquid has FAR less things in it than cigarettes. PG and or VG, PG is used in hospitals as a carrier for inhalable drugs. VG is used in fog machines at parties, special effects etc. then nicotine which you can taper off to 0 eventually if you like. Finally we come to flavorings, and this is imho the only area for any potential concerns. I do know there are a lot of people out there who are vaping well over 30-60ml of juice PER DAY. I have not heard any of them died from it. I would struggle to vape more than 2 ml a day myself, and with the type of ecig you are using it is likely you may only use 1 ml a day. Many people here easily go thru 4-10ml a day at least.

I can tell you that as a smoker I used to get frequent colds, add in chronic sinus problems (since then bored out with an auger) that cold usually turned into the flu, then bronchitis for a month of hell.

Since I stopped smoked via vaping, all of that went away. My sense of smell and taste are vastly improved, and I breathe easier. If i get one cold a year it is rare.

All e-liquid (unless pre loaded into a cartridge like the ones you have) comes in a bottle of some sort. Some have dripper tips like the video, others come with a bulb type glass dripper similar to a turkey baster but tiny.

My best suggestion: Just browse the internet for e juice shops local to you, then pop in to one and tell em you are a new vaper and need help selecting an e juice. It is what they do. They may be able to let you sample some different flavors. You may want to start with tobacco as it is similar to what you have been used to. But there are MANY yummy flavors to try that you may end up liking much more. I wouldn't vape a tobacco flavor anymore unless you paid me a LOT of money to do it. Otherwise check the link in my first post above for UK based shops, postage will be less, as well as shorter shipping times.

Thank you Nightshadow, really appreciate the post, starting to get the jist a little now, I was worried about what E liquid to get, whether it had to be the exact Liquid that was in my e-lite tip but have realised i can use another type.

Correct any e liquid you like, and you are most welcome.

Be sure to ask if in doubt, or just curious. Everyone here was pretty much here you are now at first.!

Dear @charliechaplin

E-lites hold a very special award in the e-cig world. They are possibly the worst and easily the most expensive product on the market.

I vape 2-3ml of liquid a day. To do that using an E-Lites would cost me about £4,500 a year.

I used them, got down from 15 roll ups to about 12 then hit a brick wall.

You can refill them (you can refill almost any e-cig to a point) but sadly, the cartomizer refills are so cheap, they turn to mush (moosh?) faster than you can say "£7.99 please".

Ask away... I've been here for 3 years trying to stop these brands and these products. :)

Hi Guys, can you tell me your opinion on this please?for a first timer please, just looking at another option which maybe better than refilling my e-lite cigs!
EGO CE4 900mah, Includes, 1 Ego 900mah battery, 1 CE4 Clearomizer, USB charger
with this Liquid
USA Mix - Original E Juice 10ML, 70/30 PG/VG 15mg

As a 20 a day Marlborough lites smoker, well 8 a day at present, lol

While I stopped smoking using a kit similar to the cig-alikes you have, I know a lot of people found them lacking for a few things, small battery, the least amount of vapor and not very warm vapor. Basically they didn't last long on a charge, and they didn't produce vapor that felt as warm as a cigarette. Most of the tiny ones have 150 mah batteries, with the mega ones reaching upto 350 mah. the 150 mah only last a few hours at best as I am sure you know.

I also upgraded to an Ego style batter after I quit smoking. At the 900-1300 mah range they last a lot longer. The clearomizer type tanks wick better and put out a slightly warm vapor, perhaps cooler than what you have now.
I used an Aspire K1, on and Ego and my wife still does. Very similar to the one you linked, minus the long wick tails. I prefer the bottom coil types over the top coil with tails, better wicking imho. The EVOD on the same page would perform better from a wicking point, but if cost is the deciding factor is about 2x the price or so. The cheaper one is cheaper for a reason. Evod Kit, Includes 1 Evod 900mah battery, 1 C5R PRO Clearomizer, USB charger

Either would perform better than what you have now. If you want something with a hot vapor then you will need a larger mod.

The liquid choice seems ok from a MG / price standpoint, flavor wise, only you can say. FYI in a tank like that we use about 1ml a day or so, YMMV. Seems a decent price for a sample size.

Thanks Guys, learned more on here today than I have in a month looking around the net trying to make sense of it all.
Price is important but if the kit works for me to begin with ill make it back, If the liquids cheaper in the long run then thats fantastic, but really wanna be here in 15 years to walk my daughter down the isle, thats more important. 20 Marlborough lites are nearly £10 a pack in the UK so $15s a day US!!!! so if I gotta lay out a few quid to begin with then i will.

The 'net is a dangerous place for e-cig research. Thanks to the throroughly 'bent' google search results, I spent over £500 before realizing most of what you read is fake.
E-Lites don't 'do' 30 or 40 cigarettes. They 'do' about 5 or 6 in real world, Nicotine yeild.
Refillable is massively cheaper than a cartomizer cig-a-like.

I don't even spend £100 a month and my collection is like a giant e-cig shop in my loft.

I bought E-Lites. Didn't work.
I bought JacVapour. Didn't work.

Then I got a double eGo kit for £39.99 and some liquids. That was when I stopped.

These days, the best value for money and effective e-cigs (that are easily good enough to quit) are small box mods and a nice tank. If you don't fancy that just now, you could try an eGo with a replaceable atomizer tank. (mini Protank, iClear16).

Hey glad you got some info to think about/help you proceed. Is there a vape shop around where you live? While these are dearer than buying online, a lot have taste bars where you can try out different flavours and strength of juices before comitting and some of the people in the good ones are really really knowledgeable ( mind you it helps if you have done some research beforehand )

I went down this route; did research here and headed to the Vape shop in Fuengirola to ask some questions and get recommendations there. The guy recommended the set up I'd decided on from my research here - an iStick 30w battery and a Nautilus Mini Tank. He showed me how to change the coils and the different ways to set up the battery. By that time he also knew I'd been a pipesmoker and showed me the long stems ( drip tips are they are so inelegantly called in the Vaping World ) which I do prefer when sitting down to read and vape or when having a coffee or a beer.
