Hello everyone,
Glad to be on here . I used to stalk this site many years ago when I first started vaping in 2009. Could not remember if I ever had a log on , but I do now !
My newest adventure is learning to do rebuilds and getting into Mechanical Mods and RDA/RTAs etc. Finally taking the plunge. I suck at math so not having a lot of fun so far with it.
Guess I do have a question but probably should not post it here.
I was wondering how one could tell the REAL Amps of a given battery? I will be using 18650 and 26650 in 2 Mech Mods. Got a doge RDA and god only knows what will come attached to the Cherry Bomber mod . Plus I just bought a couple Wismecs XR? 200s Reg. Mods. and 2 Gemini RTA tanks. Everyone says it blows the Griffin out of the water.

Welcome. You will find in the Batteries and Chargers sub forum there is a ton of good info on both battery sizes. @Mooch has bench test results with the continuous amp outputs for many different ones.

Edit: Took me a minute to find it again but here is a excellent battery over view that you might find quite useful.

You can find the true amp rating for over 100 different 18650's here:
18350/18500 Safety Grades and Pulse Performance Data | E-Cigarette Forum

    Here's the 26650 table:
26650 Safety Grades and Pulse Performance Data | E-Cigarette Forum

There's more info in my blog but some of it is quite technical.

Thanks for posting the table! :)
I ask everyone to post just the link though because when I update the table this one will be obsolete. Posting the link means that the latest version will always be available.

Cool, I didn't realise this, will keep it in mind next time the situation comes up.

Thank you for the link ! I think I have read almost every page on there as that is how I re-found this group. I have some batteries that are unknown in make, came with my headlamps I use running dogs and was wondering how to find out the REAL amps as they are pretty junky ones. I will put a post on there. Appreciate the response !

Unless you can find someone who has tested them there's no easy way for you to determine their true rating. The odds are extremely high that those batteries are rated around 5A, or less, as a higher current rating isn't needed.

Ah apologies I mis-understood the original question.

They won't be 'vape-safe' cells if they came with cheap (or pricey) flashlights - those devices use much lower CDR ratings than the cells that are recommended for vaping, especially on modern devices.

They'll probably have a max CDR of 5-7A as Mooch mentioned up the thread.

Do yourself a favour and keep those cells in the flashlights and order yourself a nice, brand-new set of decent cells like Samsung 30Q or 25R.

That is exactly what I did. I had tried one and it was terrible. SO I bought some good ones. Costly as heck !! but they work great in my mods. I just wish my headlamps would last longer. They are super powerful ( expensive too) as we have to be able to see WAY down a trail as a team of 16 dogs is about 64
feet long !! due to 8 foot sections of ganglines between each pair of dogs. It is very dark out there too especially on a new moon . They just dont last very long and you have to pack a ton of charged up extras. Maybe a bigger MAH battery would be better.
