Hello

E-cigarette Forum has been quite helpful, because I am new to this activity. I have an Eleaf iStick Pico with a Melo III atomiser.

Yesterday, I purchased an "ice cream" e-liquid (root beer float). The menthol taste is too strong I can barely taste the "root beer". How do I reduce the menthol flavour or get rid of it completely? I realised I am not into mentholated e-liquid (or cigarettes because I used to smoke Marlboro Red). It tastes like toothpaste. I tried mixing it with a milk flavoured e-liquid, but if there are other options without mixing, I would like to know.

You could try a little vg to help. Start with small amounts and test vape it. Be aware you are reducing the overall flavor and the nic content. Small amounts may not be noticeable but if you add too much you will taste the difference.

:)

I will try this one, too, because I recently found a shop near us selling just VG. Thank you!

not sure if you'll really be able to get rid of that menthol taste....i hate when they use koolada in stuff and don't list it...it's supposed to be a "cooling" flavor but yeah to me it's too much like minty menthol uggg just ruins the vape....

adding a drop or two of vg can help smooth over a harsh vape but it can also dilute the flavor....short of finding another root beer flavor that you like and mixing them together and even still you may get a hint of it....best of luck though...i mean don't get me wrong i have a lot of juice that i didn't really care for but mixed it with other things to vape it ;)

If I mix it with just VG, it will lower the nicotine content, but if I mix it with a different flavour (with the same amount of nicotine in it), only the taste will change? Did I get it correctly? Thank you!

yes correct....mixing it with vg although only 2 little drops won't do much it's really more to help a harsh throat hit or mellow a flavor but yes it will dilute the nic and flavor (a bit) anything more than a 2 drops is well too much....
but if you mix it with another juice of the same nic level then nothing but the flavor changes.....if you mix it with another nic level add the 2 together than divide by 2 to get the rough nic level
so a 6nic + 3nic = 9/2 = about 5nic give or take.....

Welcome and glad you joined. We are here to help you succeed in vaping, menthol and of the mints are dynamite to hide or thin. RDA's and tanks need to be cleaned (Everclear works best) thoroughly. Coil/wick assemblies may have to be tossed.
Might want to do non sub-ohm first (Over 1 ohms). You will get great flavor but the cloud production is not as intense as you can produce with sub ohm'g.
Could look into the pros and cons of sub ohm'g vs non sub ohm'g before you decide which way you want to go. Some folks jump right into sub ohm'g without looking at the hidden ramifications.Successful sub ohm'rs tend to know the ins and outs of vaping. That's why sub ohm'g is tagged as advanced vaping.

Once I switch to an RDA (planning to soon), I'll keep this one in mind. Thank you!

Welcome @Hasegawa and I hope you enjoy your stay!

Sorry to say I can't help with the Menthol issue except to say drain and wash the tank out to install a new coil! Never was a Menthol smoker and I don't like it in a vape e-Liquid.

Likewise. I smoked Lucky Strike Red or Marlboro Red that is why the menthol sensation overwhelmed me. Thank you for looking into my concern.

???? How does this in anyway address the op?

I mean, it is good advice, if that is what is being asked for, but the op asked a question about ejuice, and mentioned he already has a devise he is using.

This is very confusing...
