I'm not a fan of cigalikes, but they work fantastically for some folks, and that's really step one. :)

BTW, I don't think I've EVER entered a vape shop and not seen huge clouds.... But most do carry mid-range/in between equipment that may not have octocouple coils or whatever, that can work well also but you do have to ask for that, usually. That said, I didn't really start experimenting too much until I found a really stable, desirable vape for myself and then got a backup of that. Doubles of something I KNOW I will use consistently doesn't seem like overkill to me. I don't want to vape cartridges if only for the cost, but if that had been what worked for me best, I would have done THAT because nothing was going to cost more than my health issues were costing me, be it smoking, or a Juul, a V2, or whatever. I like the flexibility of being able to make juices and starting to build coils...

I'm still off work and had I not been, the initial amount of effort/investment/learning would have been probably a bit much, and I may've started out far more simply. That said, ecigs are GETTING me to the point that I will be able to return to work shortly, well, once my docs all sign off.... But, it ended up being good timing for me, and I'm glad I listened to my docs who were saying, "Okay, you quit,Anna, can you PLEASE recover/relax a bit until you return to 70 hr work weeks," and I am so glad I did. I don't think I could have gotten this far with the amount of stress I'd been under at work what with health issues on top of it. Everyone's different, but I needed to swim in the shallow/kiddie pool for a bit. I want to be really confident that vaping "sticks" for me upon my return....

Welcome to ecf :D like many pointed out if you have issues don't be shy and ask away !
I personally tried ego styles but it wasen't satisfying enough for me so i had to buy a complete kit (mod + clearomiser) i started with a nautilus tank with what i'd call a generic mod from fumytech. Haven't looked back since and i'm now getting more addicted to vape gear than i ever was smoking xD kinda ironic if you ask me :p

Spent one of the most frigid vacations ever on the Canadian side of Niagra Falls, I didn't get warm until about 2 months after my return and smoking was a problem my cigarettes kept icing over before I could finish them... Though I spent middle school in France, so I do speak both languages, though not so much that Quebec patois you lot "use" over there....

Hi, I have been smoking cigarettes for almost fifty years. I really need to stop. I hope vaping does the trick - I know it's probably going to be hard.

I am awaiting the arrival of a v2 ex starter kit ordered earlier this week.

I have found some of the threads concerning the transition from cigs to vaping very inspiring. Glad to be here.
I had my first cig when I was 12 and have smoked for 28 years. I finally got my self down to about half a pack per day for about the last 3 or 4 years but could never quit until i discovered vaping. Started with the VUSE which got me off the cig's but after 2 weeks they got old. Now I'm using the ECOM Supreme with Kangertech Nano tank. So far so good. Since I'm new to vaping I've had some equipment issues and just had a bout with vapers tounge. You can do it, this forum has a lot of good info and the people have been great resources. You can do it!! Good luck

Let me give you some in encouragement.

Am 72 started smoking when I was 13. Tried every thing to quit. Longest I made it was 3 months and it was hard very hard. One day I seen a TV AD about six years ago. Was curious quitting wasn't even on my mind. Went to the local store and picked up disposable one. After using it dawned on me I didn't light up a cig or did I want one. Went right back and bought another three days later and not a cig or did I want one. Went out and bought my first device wasn't best but it worked. Best thing I ever did.

You can quit I know you can.

One tip drink water otherwise we dehydrate.

Another tip just a little advice.

There is a lot of new stuff on the market with a lot of do dads included - all great. At the beginning you'll not understand or need them all - best thing to do is keep it simple for now. As you progress you'll want the new fancy things by then you'll learn what its all about. By keeping it simple you won't get frustrated and stay with vaping. Everything - every new device, tank, juice, coil, wick battery and Etc. has a learning curve and all is easy to learn but takes time.
