just got this today, the first 20 hits were AMAZING. Now i get this weird machine oil taste and a slight ry4. My ry4 is caramel vanilla goodness. Not in this. Not to happy, guess its back to the vivi nova, which has never faild me with taste. I washed it out with soap and hot water and let it soak nothing.. =/

I can't say for sure if this is the issue, but:

Make sure you actually scrub it down. At the very least, paper towel wipe it off. When I first got my big Protank-2's, I noticed the only part that was noticeably gross with machine oil was inside the drip tip. See if anything wipes out of there. Besides that, it could just be the metal drip tip.

If you haven't already, get some 30 and 32g Kanthal on Ebay. I re-coiled my mini PT-2 with cotton and it's pretty awesome.
