OK guys and girls,

I have tried the wick mod myself, on the problematic atty I mentioned earlier, and I've had no leaking. Flavour is great, and finally I'm happy.

So when an atty starts giving me wicking issues, I'll replace the wick.

Problem solved for me and I will continue enjoying the eGo-C and vaping in general, while I'm busy doing other things!

Thanks for the reply, good info. Like I said, I like the SR with my juice and I am sure the LR would produce more vapor but if it runs my battery down quicker then I think I should stay with the SR. Does the LR atty last any longer between cleaning than the SR??

I've only had to clean 3 heads since I started with the betas - they were SR's. If I start feeling a hard draw, I'll vape a 80:20 VG:H2O blend (cignot) without flavoring or nic and put it on an SE Riva or the high setting of a vv eGo batt. The LR's seem to 'self clean' better, but it works well with the SR too.

Of course if you use mainly PG, then use the PG unflavored - kinda like the use gum to clean up gum idea. :)

I just ordered one of these from cignot. I had read a few pages back (truman back on page 35) that the LR atty didn't like Johnson Creek's juice. I got the SR attys. I usually vape Tennessee Cured or Valencia (Red Oak line) from JC. I can't handle PG. I had an ego-T and LOVED it with JC's TC, but the atty was messed up after only a few tank fulls. I thought I'd give the ego-c a try since the attys are cheaper to replace and easier to clean/fix.

What I'm really looking for are any suggestions for a VG-only juices that have worked without any problems with the ego-c, even though it will be hard for me to give up JC's TC. :)

I use VG only ejuices - DIY from Decadent Vapours - 5 different flavors without problems. Nothing really to suggest except see my post above about cleaning with just a VG blend no flavoring....

I will try that. Thanks

I vape approx 4-5ml's per day. I get 5-6 hours from a stock Ego "C" battery.
Thats about how much E-juice I vape a day. On the stock battery I get around 2 to 3 hrs between charges, I think. I will have to try using only the C and not switch between other mods. And guess I should write it down so I don't forget, LOL. I really do like the E-Go-C's and also the tank mods because I don't need to carry spare little tanks for the C, just extra batteries for the tank mod.

Hi Don

Watch this video from 06:20 onwards. That's how I did the wick. For my juices, which are a bit on the thin side, I used 2 and a half braids. If your juices are on the thick side, two braids should be good. I cut the mesh flush with the top part of the spike - no fuss. Also, I left the wick longer where it meets the coil, around 2.5mm, unlike what the video from Bulli suggests.

Using this wick mod you can adjust it to suit your juices better. You can customise atties for particular juices like that.

Sorry for not taking pics myself of the process, but I have had surgery 2 days ago and I can barely manage sitting in front of the PC, so that's the best I could do to help out.

Hope it's all clear now, but if you need me to clarify more, please ask me.

Cyblood- I am having the same trouble with the dry hits. I am very interested in the wick mod you referred to. Can I find that here on the forum? Thanks.

So, I've been using LR Atty's 100% of the time over the last 2 months. I finally went through every LR I had on hand, ready for a big maintenance session. So, I cracked open an SR, and fired it up..... Nice mellow vape, and really didn't miss the TH that the LR delivers. One thing I have noticed though, is my juice consumption is up about 50% using an SR, compared to an LR... I would have thought the opposite to be true, but I consistently vaped about 3.5-4.0ml on the LR, I vaped 5-6.5ml on the SR, same juice... Thoughts?

That does seem strange, Maybe with the LR you are not needing to draw as long to get the same amount of vapor as when you use the SR. Are your batteries lasting any longer between charges with the SR?

Charge seems about the same 5-6 hours of vaping... I could actually be liking this flavor more on the SR, so maybe it's a bogarting issue? :) Hate it when that happens!

All I have used is the SR and have been happy with them but always wondered what the LR would be like. I Thought that the LR atty would use a battery charge quicker.

Well I got my eGo-C tonight, so far so good. I like that it vapes more like a cigarette than the cartos I've been using. The draw, at least for now, is just how I like it. I had a really great experience with the eGo-T, but only for a couple weeks. After that, one atty always seemed to be flooded (and leaking) so there was little vapor, the other seemed clogged. I tried to fix the clogged one and ended up popping it when dry burning it. At that time they were brand new so there was very little talk about where the wick should be, etc. Hopefully it will keep performing as it is tonight! I forgot how these can just chew through the juice (SR here), but they have great flavor.

Phreaker, good to hear! I'm getting about 4-5 days out of an Atty, before it needs a cleaning. I guess-timate that's about 20-25ml of juice vaped. Sammy has a great Maintenance/Cleaning procedure for the "C" Atty's.. For a quick clean, a buddy of mine just pours some grain alcohol in a glass about an inch deep, and swirls the Atty for about 2-3 mins.. Then a rinse and a dry burn...

I just finished an Atty cleanup session, and was able to resurrect 10 of the 13 Atty's I had waiting to clean up.
BUT, I'm really not satisfied with the way they vape. They just don't hit the way a brand new Atty hits. I'm estimating like 80%..... Which means a faster drop off, to less than favorable performance. I'll keep these around as back ups, but ordered a blister pack of both SR/LR's from Cignot. I get 4-5 days from an new Atty, and at $1.25 a day average, that's an acceptable expense for my habit... Compared to the $9.00 per day I was spending on Reds....

There was also the 2 hours it took to boil/disect Atty Spikes/burn off wicks/burn off coils/rinse/repeat/arghhhhhhhhhh

Cost just doesn't justify the time and effort for me.

The "C" kit, has been a godsend for me. Fill and vape. Putting this much maintenance into the equation for the return, just isn't cutting it for me.
