I'm new here and have found so much info that is so great. Thanks, to all...unknown to you maybe, but you all have been a great support in my efforts to kick a 40 year, 2 pack a day lung destroying habit. This vaping is working for me. Thanks for all the tips I have been learning and incorporating. Now, if I could just get over being ticked believing that most of the adversity against vaping must be spurred on by profiteering cigarette and pharmaceutical companies who don't want me or others to find this kind of relief... And heck vaping is fun. I'm gonna have to start going to the gym so I can get enough muscles to hold up one of those big battery mods in case this granny needs to participate in civil disobedience over vaping some day.

Welcome to ECF Btnuttier! Love your avatar :thumb:

As a noob here at ECF myself, this thread was almost overwhelming.

As others have said, and I have to agree with. Read as much as you can. Watch as many YouTube videos that you can and if you get lost or confused, come back to ECF and ask questions.

Another suggestion that I have is through the "New Members Information" thread. The reason I say this, is because I was taking HUGE traditional cigarette and shisha hits while vaping. I wondered why my throat and lungs where getting sore. I had no clue I was supposed to do a Bill Clinton and not inhale.

I started with Blu, then a Johnson Creek Vea and am now waiting for the iTaste SVD. I honestly wish I would have found ECF before I had purchased the Blu and also the JC Vea.

The kids here on ECF are tremendously helpful and willing to help out.

Ok, first post on ecf...
Love my kanger evod, bought it after trolling ecf......after I bought my v2 that I gave away after three weeks! Hated the burnt taste I got with the v2!
Switched to my evod and love it. Cept for one thing that seems to be happening all the time. I'll drop in a new head and fill it up with juice. I'm vaping kryptonite 24nic. 70vg 30pg it taste amazing fir the first two hours...then, burnt taste and the juice gets a burnt color...sucks!!! I have tried pulling the "flavor wicks" out and just use the main wick...Same results! I have tried not vaping back to back quick hits and waiting a min in between hits...Same results? Any help would be awesome!!! Thanks guys/gals...

I completely understand. I am new, but have been free of cigarettes for three weeks now. I'd like to experiment with the mods, just think it would be more to my liking, but have to be able to afford it. I like the idea of building my own wicks for nickels instead of replacing coils every few days. Is there such a thing as an affordable apv?

I completely agree, it didn't take too long before I couldn't even think about smoking a real cigarette. I still haven't figured out how to avoid the burnt coils though.

Well folks after much deliberating and rereading all your amazing posts of data and encouragement I think I might just know enough to jump into the next generation of vaping. This is what I've come up with: Vamo V2 (unless someone comes up with a really good reason to spend the xtra $5 on V3 or 5) with a Smoktech DCT Tank with dual coils. I'm getting this stuff at DiscountVapers - Your source for savings on electronic cigarettes and accessories, Go-go eGo, vGo for under $70. I've already got some 35 mg. V4 juice. When that runs out I'll go organic. I'd like to answer and personally thank every one of you for bringing me from zero knowledge to 60 in 2 days flat but that would take me another 2 days because there have been so dang many of you. so I'm hoping everyone who posted to this thread will see how appreciative I am of how much you have helped me to approach a smoke free life. Just being part of this community is enough reason to be a vaper. You know the song "If Yous a Vaper." I'm gonna let it soak in another 16 hours so if anybody has any last minute advisements I will welcome them before I make the leap. Thank you again.

I'm also new to vaping - last week; so i'm far from expereinced. But..i think 35 mg nicotine is going to be too much for 98% of people. I'm a heavy smoker who loves a throat hit, but you get to a point where the nicotine becomes sickly when you vape too much.

So far i've only tried 2 juices, one 24mg and one 18mg. I prefer the 18mg, mainly because it's a nicer flavour but also because i can vape more without getting nicotine overload.

yepper, there is a fine line right there for me 18-24-30
nicotine tastes bitter and as you said, gives me that overload (30)

so you/I need to pick and choose which to put nic levels in
eg: in morning maybe coffee 30mg for a few then set it aside and move on to another

noon banana 18mg etc...

rest of time RY4 @ 24mg

just a thought :)

Alrighty then. Here's the scoop of where this whole thread led me. After all your great thoughts I loaded up my shopping cart at DesertVapes Electronic Cigarettes and Supply with the vamo 3 the Vision Victory clearomiser and all the necessary paraphenalia. Then I called them to just make sure I had everything. I got Dave the owner who proceeded to talk me down to a simple Vision Spinner 650mah system at about half the price even though I was perfectly prepared to spend $90. I got it the next day and couldn't figure out why it wasn't vaping. I called and they talked me through connecting the coil to the tank. Started vaping and knew right away that he was right. I got all the vaping power I need. I love the cloud and the throat hit. I'm not psyched about the taste so I'm looking at different ratios of PG and VG and flavors. I just want to say that Desert Vapes offered me maybe the best online shopping experience of my life. How often does a company talk you down in price by half cause they know you'll feel better about the whole experience? Not enough. Plus I love that shipping is always just $3 unless you spend 100 bucks. Then it's free.

Glad to hear that! You'll figure it out--eventually. Trial and error.

BTW, if you have a great experience with a vendor--any vendor--you may consider posting it in the Positive Reviews forum. You'll thank the vendor and share that vital information with fellow ECF members.
