Some of these are very general questions, apologies beforehand because I know most have been answered before. This is first pv using a straight atty. I've only used kits with cartos before (808) so please bare with me.

1. How can you tell when the atty needs cleaning? Is it a general loss of performance (less vapour, TH, etc..)?

2.The so called break in period for attys. What does this consist of? Harsh hits, burning taste, etc..

3.As for the leakage issue, I've found moisture on the outside of my tanks (bubbles of juice etc..)as well as the condensation on the inside. I also see a decent amount of juice/moisture in the atty on both the tank end as well as the battery end. Would this be considered leaking or normal operation? Just wondering if the leaking issue is severe like when you flood a carto and juice may come out of the threads on the battery side.

4.Anyone have a general idea on how long the atty and battery life of these things are? By battery life I mean the lifespan (2,3,4, months). I know my 808's were hit or miss, some 4 months, some a month. And by atty life, how long in general til it's dead. I know the tank system is fairly new, but I figured these are the same atty's that have been in production for some time now.

thanks for any help, and i will keep you posted on my experiences and answer any questions you may have. Thanx!:p

1 - I don't really clean out atties. I blow em out once in a while. When I do clean, I use Iso alcohol. Mostly I only clean when they're really gunked up.

2 - For my tank atties, they did not need to be broken in. One of em had a bit more primer than the others and needed a tank vaped through it before it tasted "normal". But, even that one was pretty good after only a few hits.

3 - moisture is normal. When I refill, I wipe it off and about once a week or so I sterilize with Iso alcohol. I do wipe things down when disassembling especially before I charge just to keep everything neat and clean.

4 - atties are fickle beasts. I have yet to kill a T atty. My eGo Mega's lasted anywhere from 3 months to 2 weeks. I have 4 standard batteries and 2 T batteries. The first ones are 4 months or so old and the T batteries are a few weeks old and they all work great.

I have typed in several times "tank leaking" and I can't find an answer to my question. When I pull out the tank there is juice on the outside of it. I know its juice b/c the juice is orange colored and what I am wiping off of the tank is orange. Also there is a little bit of juice on the metal plate surrounding the wick. It isn't puddled or not enough that if I tip it sideways that it all pools on one side. My question is is this normal? Or is that considered leaking. The little plastic piece that was pierced when I first inserted the tank is still attached but the hole is open. I am using pg liquid.

That all sounds normal to me. Leaking should be when it leaks out between the atomizer and the battery, making a big mess or where the tank and atomizer meet. I'm no expert by any means, but that sounds normal. Maybe someone with more experience will chime in.

OK, thank you for your response. I have been using it anyway and it works great as far as I am concerned. A definite plastic taste is present, though. I have soaked the tank in grain alcohol and in vinegar but it still tastes like plastic. Other than that mine has been perfect.

Moisture is normal, leaking is not. The only one I've had leak was because I poked the wick down in the atty after reading that improved performance, and poked it down too far. The juice was then just flowing right through the atty and all over the battery.
I clean them once a week or so with a boiled distilled water soak, and blow them out into a paper towel in between juices.
My brand new atty I just got, after blowing out the primer it come in, performed perfectly with no break in time.

1 - The atty needs cleaning when the draw becomes too hard to vape comfortably.

2 - The "Break In" is nothing more than getting through the priming fluid :) You should have nothing but a lack of flavor during this time.

3 - The condensation is normal. If you're seeing juice on the battery connector, you're probably flooding it due to pulling to hard on the tank. The juice flow / wicking is controlled by airflow, if you draw to hard, you will pull too much juice into the atty. Your draw should take five seconds to get a full mouth of vapor. If you are getting a full mouth in less than five seconds, you may be giving it too much juice and it will flood.

4 - Atties should last at least one month (I'd expect 3-4), and batteries should last at least two months (I'd expect 6 months to a year). The "at least" figures are the warranty.

You should also take a few minutes to browse through my blog, I have lots of tips and tricks for the eGo-t listed there... You can find the link in my signature!

The liquid on the side of the tanks is normal. It's just the airflow that is causing this. It's pulling small amounts of juice up above the needle plate, and then onto the sides of the tank. As long as you're not getting juice in the mouth or out of the battery end, it's fine.
