New owner of the Provari with a question!!

Now I have my Provari in my hand, but I don't know how to apply the voltage, SR,LR, resistance thing? and what exactly knowing all that will benefit me?!! please help.

Lower res, lower voltage, standard res higher voltage. If you push a LR too hard it will taste burnt. I don't take LR cartos over 4.2v. Standard 3 ohm I vape at 5.7v.

Higher ohms will take a higher voltage to create the same heat but nothing is set in stone as everyone has their preference. Start out low and raise the voltage till you find your sweet spot. The atty/carto will tell you if you're pushing it to hard.

Thank you so much for explaining this. so there are only LR with 2 ohm or lower and there are SR with 3 Ohm or higher?

If I remember right, SR are like 2.5 to 3.0 give or take. You can also get HR that will go into 4 from some products I've seen. SR is all I use, does the trick for me. Others will swear by LR DC. Just comes down to what you like really.

Another thing to consider is that pushing the same amount of watts on a LR carto will result in more battery drain than pushing the same wattage on a SR carto. Meaning the device has to "work" harder with LR cartos/atties, than it does with SR.

I started out using the 1.7ohm resurrectors at around 4v (because that's all I had that would fit in my dctanks) now that the longer 3ohm boges are out (Yahoo!!!) I am using them at 5v and I can tell a big difference in batt life! My batt life is a lot longer!

How do you know which carto is which ? Is it written on each carto if it's SR or LR?

You can check the resistance of the carto/atty with the provari, it's "Ao" in the menu, right after check battery.

It doesn't matter what someone calls "standard" or "low" resistance. Only actual numbers matter, and with Provari in hand you can check those numbers.

As for DC, if it says say 1,5 ohm on the box, that means it has two 3ohm coils inside. 1,5 ohm is the total resistance, and that is what your battery will "see".

Malduk is right, all I will add is that SR cartos usually tend to be 2.7-3.1 ohms, even if they're labeled as 3 ohm.

To make things simple, for a single coil carto/atty, I start out at carto ohms + 2 for initial voltage setting, and adjust from there. 1.7 ohm = 3.7 volts. 3.0 ohm = 5 volts, and so on. this gets you close to 8 watts...
