New Poster with Battery question

Ok I started vaping 3 months ago with the intention to quit smoking. It worked. I haven't touched smokes the day I started vaping.

On to my question... My 1st purchase was an Itaste EP that came with a 700mah battery. From what I gather this puts out 3.5 volts.

Then I bought an Aspire tank and used the EP 700 mah battery with it.

Then 2 months ago I bought the Innokin CLK variable volt (twists at the bottom and ranges from 3.5 to 5 volts) with an Iclear 16D tank with a 2.1

I always use the Iclear tank now.

Here's my problem... Lately I've been having to pull really hard when using the CLK battery. It also gives me very little flavor and less VAPE. When the battery dies I sometimes use the EP battery which is not variable so it's stuck at 3.5. For some reason the EP battery works much better. I've tried the CLK at all different volts from 3.5 to 4.3. I know it's not the coils cause I change them when they die plus the tank and coils are the common denominator. I just notice a big difference when I hook up the EP battery. It's so much easier to pull, tastes better, and bigger VAPE. I will let them both sit, set the CLk at 3.5 (same as the EP,) and compare. I get the same result... The EP battery works better.

From what I gather the battery should not make a difference especially when set the same.

Is it possible that the CLK battery is not working properly? It wasn't always like this. I've noticed a difference the last week or so and it becomes more and more noticeable.

Sorry for being so wordy. I wanted to post on another existing thread but I can't since I don't have 5 posts.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, this is a tricky one. I don't know about that particular battery, but the reviews seem good on it. Here's on thing you could check. Look inside the terminal end. Is it gunked up? Turn the battery off, and clean it well with a Q-tip lightly moistened with rubbing alcohol. Also, does it use the same charger as the other battery? Check for gunk in that, too.

If this doesn't help, then your battery might just be wonky. Some last longer than others. Hopefully someone else will come along with some other ideas. Good luck!

One common newbie issue is screwing devices on too tightly, forcing the center post on a battery down. If you have been over tightening that tank, with time you start having problems making electrical connection with the battery. The instinctive thing to do is screw it on even harder, which only makes the problem worse. You may now be at the point where you are screwing the Iclear on far enough that it's blocking the air vent holes at the top of the 510 threads.

If you back off the Iclear and draw on it - whether or not it's still making electrical contact - does the draw improve?

batteries do die after a while. I have never owned a nice ego-style battery, went straight from basic ones to mods, but I can tell you from electronics knowlege that batteries do die if you use them long enough. what kind of charger are you using? those can definitely decrease battery life if you dont invest in a good one, although im one to talk
get a volt meter, and see if its putting out the voltage it says it should be

Same conclusion I had as soon as I read the OP's post. Screwing the tank down too tight.
