Thanks so much for doing all this numbers stuff for me drozd. It helps me a bunch.

no problem at all..I've actually beeen working on putting together a long detailed battery post with a simplified amp draw table and a wattage table...for the different atties and voltages...

the long and short of it is...that crunching the numbers on batteries that could handle any atty you throw at them without exceeding the max drain rate of the battery you've pretty much got:
at 3.7V:
just about any 18650
and the 3.7V AW IMR 16340 LiMN

at 6V:
stacked 3V AW 16340 LiFePo4

at 7.4V:
stacked 3.7V AW IMR 16340 LiMN

so 18650 size and a couple of 16340 (CR123a) options
*but specifically those 16340s as far as the 3V 16340 LiFePo4 and the 3.7V AW IMR 16340 LiMN...

The AW IMR16340 last me pretty much all day. I'm a former pack-a-day smoker, now vaping 12mg liquid. When I get home from work, I'll sometimes pop a fresh batt in, but sometimes not. Even after a full day at work, its usually still hitting harder than a fully charged 510 batt. I expect when the IMR14500s are out, they'll have a similar capacity.

I like that I'm not pushing these out of their operational comfort zone and that the batt chemistry doesn't make for explosive failure modes.

Still, I think some venting would be a welcome addition. Is there any downside?

A. Holes in the side of the PV.
B. Being able to see the batteries or the spring assembly.

Welcome to some maybe... I prefer the sleek design of the Precise.
Totally smooth. Very hard to detect joints..
Ubber high quality fit and finish...

Hey Dave,

I know this might be a pipe dream, but is there a possibility that you might fabricate a 14500 model of the Precise? I have had good experiences with this battery platform and it is a good compromise between overall size and mah rating. Just a thought. I know I would buy one if it existed. Cheers.

For the 14500 you definately want the Super 6.
I agree that the 14500 is a great platform but so is the 16340 in one of the new larger Precise models / platforms.

I have all of the Super-T's and there's not one single thing that I dislike about any of them and, you cant really compare one to the other... They're each in their own league of greatness. (Really)

I do not disagree with the Super 6 as a great 14500 device, I just have a weakness for the aesthetics of the Precise body styling. I really like the clean simplified lines of the Precise. Again, just my personal taste, nothing against the functionality and high quality of the Super 6 or any other Super-T product.

Ok i can understand and respect that....Although i do not own a Precise.....I hear it's a beautiful PV and a work of art.....But i will be a proud owner of the P18:)

I can't argue with you on the aesthetics of the Precise as I also have two of those and love the classy style. The S6 and Precise each hold the number one position, in their respective class.

Now the wait for the 16340 precise to see if David can do it again.

Best of luck on your decision.
Bob
