new Protege arrived today!!!

My long awaited mod has finally arrived...being the .... i am i now have one with an 801 adaptor, and no 801 attys.... so gotta wait for my other adaptors to arrive : o(

its collecting dust as we speak but is still beautiful...my fears have come true...like a dream where i can see it but not touch it!!!

My question is is there anyway to check the tact switch/unit working without sticking an 801 atty on?i dont have any kind of battery checker...see what the voltage is? type contraptions....

would it get warm after awhile of pressing button or is this unadvisable???

Lucky you with mail service today in Ireland. Got packages waiting here till tomorrow cause of the holiday. I just got a Prodigy V2 and it is a work of art and will be ordering a Protege also. Steve hase great customer service and a great product.

Hi Dk....it actually arrived on friday but i missed the delivery guy so i hadta wait til today to collect it....had a CRAZY thought that perhaps the adaptor would arrive with it since they sent within days of each other...but no luck....that would be too much good luck for me...

sorry im beginning a rant cos i was almost squished like a bug AGAIN today by a ridiculous driver...sat in my car for an hour in floods while my daughter was saying its alright mom and singing to me(shes 2!)...and everyone thinking i was crazy cos nothing ACTUALLY happened(i was in a crash 2 weeks ago and a bad one a year ago...)

Nothing will happen without an atty on, the circuit needs to be complete. Best just wait for one to come than risk shorting the unit out using other methods unless you know someone with a multimeter.

Hi Cass I dont believe in that so im ok, You can hit the button with no atty on it and put you tounge to the post where the atty goes and see if you get a slight tingle if you do its working. It wont shock you just a slight tingle

I was actually going to say the same thing but looks like you beat me to it, Its really not that bad but I did it with a regular pen style.

Or a multimeter would work but If it was me I would save the trouble and just tongue it 8-o

It doesnt give you a shock hard at all and thats Steves way to test them seen it on alot of threads directly from him I tried it just to see less than a 9V we used to do as a kid by far.
