Good afternoon everyone. I would first like to say its a pleasure to be a part of this fine community. I have been vaping for 2 months now since quitting analogs at the same time. Currently, I have been using greensmartliving e-cigs from the gas station. They aren't bad, but I'm ready to switch to big boy pants and get some serious equipment. I have been looking at a Silver Bullet from Altsmoke (i would like something to produce great flavor and vapor) and I seem to feel a tank/ carto would suit me better than an atty/drip tip as I am usually on the go at work, and lazy at home. So here are my questions as I'm still green with this.

1.). Is this too big of a jump?

2.). Would I need to order several tanks/cartos for flavor changes, or just the cartos that go in the tank?

3.). Lastly, they recommend no more than a 18650 protected 2400mah battery. Can I use a 3100 mah?

Thank you for reading, and any brands or suggestions would help also.

I see no reason why you couldn't use a 3100mah battery, the mah rating is just how long the battery will last, has no effect on the voltage of it. I do recommend sticking with AW IMR or AW Protected batteries.

No such thing as too big of a jump, personally though as i recall the Silver Bullet is an unregulated mod, which means as the batteries discharge the vape changes, I personally hate this and would rather have a regulated mod so that the vape experience is consistent through out the day and i don't have to change batteries as often.

As for your question about tanks/cartos, start off with 10-15 cartos, and 2-3 tanks as you may want more than one juice available during the day and it can be a pain to empty a tank then vape the carto or change the carto when you want a different flavor.

so in review

1. no, but think about if you want a consistent or constantly changing vape experience before picking your next mod

2. yes, but only enough tanks for the flavors you want in a day or week, and lots of cartos if you decide that is want you will be using.

3. yes you can.

a provari or lavatube or one of many clones out there could use the 18650 3100mah battery and is variable voltage as well as regulated, all of your variable voltage devices will be regulated.

You could also get the silver bullet with a Kick from Evolv using an 18490 battery it won't last as long as the 18650 but the Kick will turn it into a variable wattage and regulate it.

I always have 3 batteries for any of my mods, 1 charging, 1 backup and 1 in the mod and rotate them so that the battery lasts longer and always have one charged battery in case i forget to charge them.

Another vapor in Wyoming, maybe we should start a vapor club.

I also liked the IMR 18650 batteries for a power source but I chose the Ego-T 18650 mod from Joyetech with a smartcharger (like nitecore or XTAR) because I like it's value (about a third of the price of the SB) and I have a fondness for the Vision CE4+/CE5 rebuildable juice delivery systems. I didn't like the Silver bullet because it requires using an ego adapter to use those clearomizers and it wasn't regulated. The new switch on the ego-T mod allows unregulated use if I ever wanted to choose that, but since I chose Low Resistance coils (1.8 Ohms) in my clearomizers I don't feel the need for more voltage/heat. YMMV.

I also didn't like the way the SB promotes using stacked batteries for higher voltage - I consider that a dangerous practice and think users would be better served with an electronic boost circuit if they want higher voltage.

I Agree with Darko, go as fast as you want. There is really no need to move threw every progression of devises for pen to eGo then big bat mod.. If you feel your ready for a big battery mod go for it. I also would recommend something regulated as I got a Silver Bullet early on and now its just a shiny paper weight. It depends on what you can afford to buy. I feel the vvGriper was a very good buy for a VV setup at that price, but mind you mine did brake on me and i had to rebuild it into another box. If you have the money go for the Provari or a ZMax(revision 2) Lastly Welcome :toast:

If the SB is built half as well as my BB, it's a TANK! You can't hardly hurt these things! That means a lot to me! I have a Lava Tube clone, I love the VV, but it's cheap! It feels cheap! It's made cheap, you can tell! For what I payed for it, I've no complaints, but when it's hard work time, the BB comes out every time! I'm looking for a better version of the Lava tube myself, VV is the BOMB!!!
I don't consider dropping to an 18490 a major drop in power, at least not enough I would avoid purchasing a version set up like that. But I'm established with 18650's so..........
After using a good mod I can't hardly stand stick batteries anymore! Too many glitches and gimmicks, fiddle with this, adjust that, clean the other thing! Then they are dead at the most inopportune times!
I love tanks as well! Though the look funny on stick batts! Fill it and vape for a day or more, one mess, don't have to worry about a carto going empty, or carrying spares with you, simple!
IMR's are the best bet right now, but make sure you at least use protected cells if you don't want to spend the money on IMR's!

So,
1 only you know what you are willing to carry around and deal with.
2 I have several, you never know if you will drop one and break it, flood it or have to wash one out for a new flavor.
3 Yes
