Hi All,
So quick summary, I have been vaping for just over a year and for the past 8 month or so been happy with my setup. iStick 50 with a Kanger Subtank Mini or Subtank Plus.

However I have gone through 3 iStick 50's due to various faults and decided enough is enough and am going to switch to something new. I am very happy with the Kanger Subtanks and own 4 of them so am keen to stick with them and use the older style 0.5ohm coils (I have around 30 left). I have not started to build my own coils as my girlfriend used to work at a vape store and got a good deal on the coils.
I purchased one of the new Kanger Subbox setups and having to use 18650 batteries is really not for me!!

So, having done some research I am drawn to purchase a eVic VT Joyetech mainly due to the huge internal battery, I also like the look of it and reviews I have seen all seem positive.

My question though is this. Variable Temp settings seem to require Titanium or Nickel wire in the coil and to the best of my knowledge this rules out the Kanger Subtank to be used in temp control mode anyway. But does this matter if I just use the eVic in wattage mode? I guess just making it a slightly more reliable iStick.
Or should I look to try an new tank as well (reluctantly).

Would appreciate any advice. Keen to make my purchase asap but thought i'd reach out here first.

The Evic VT is a nice mod with a lot of features and support, it can run in any of its 3 modes which are...

Standard wattage mode - supports Kanthal A1 or Nichrome 60/Nichrome 80 wires
Temperature Control Nickel - Support Only for Ni200 Nickel wire
Temperature Control Titanium - Support only for Titanium A1 wire

Makes it one of the most flexible mods on the market right now with plenty of power and charge reserve for most vapers' needs, a very good choice.

The ego one tank is more or a mouth to lung tank. Depends on how much you want to spend on a new tank. You can get a ijust 2 tank and get Ni200 coils for it and it blows crazy clouds, or there are many tanks that offer both options of nickel or kanthal. A lot of tanks now can use other tanks coils, so make sure you do a little research before you pull the trigger. Also, i have the vtc mini, and it is a great, tiny little mod that works like a charm. If you haven't purchased yet, look into it and i think you might decide differently. Good luck
