OK, I know this has been covered ad nauseum by this point, but I figure a company might want to hear as much feedback as possible from their consumers? I hope so...

I had ordered some of the new auto shorty batts in a couple of different colrs (red, blue, green) and really liked them. I had gotten some of the manual shorties too, but I found that when I'm using a shorty batt, that scrunching my fat little fingers up to press the button was a bit inconvenient.

I digress...

So after liking the colored auto shorties, I ordered a black one & a white one. When I got them I realized that they are just a bit shorter than my colored ones, and not only do they have the 'V4L' logo on them, but they also say 'Vapor King' and 'VAPOR4LIFE' on the opposite side. Of course none of that bothered me. I think they are some pretty sleak looking batts.

My problem is...like many others have complained...the holes are so big...I have to suck with way too much force to get anything. And I never really get a decent TH out of them. I just don't have it in me to suck that hard.

I tried sticking a toothpick in one of the holes, and then even 2 of the 3 holes. No luck. I tried putting a small piece of plumbing tape on them. That didn't seem to work real well, and it came off with a couple of my tighter-fitting cartos. Lastly, I did try cutting a condom & sliding it up the batt to cover the seem. To be honest, I couldn't tell if that worked or not because both batts died by the time I got around to trying that. But for the few seconds I was able to draw before the batt died, it didn't seem to make the hit any more powerful. But you know...even if it does...man, making sure I always have a small piece of condom to carry around with me could be a pain. And well...it looks silly. :(

I guess what I'm getting at is...for those of you that have gotten these shorties, do they get better over time?

If not...V4L guys...PLEASE go back to the smaller holes. Your batts were so much better before. I guess the 'easy draw' batts with the bigger holes are supposed to create more vapor & TH? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I'm getting next to NO vapor or TH at all with them.

I hate to come off as such a complainer. I've really been very happy with my V4L stuff. Happier than I've been with any other supplier. So it's not like I'm threatening to take my business elsewhere or anything like that (not that it would break them if I did...I'm a po' boy). I just want to at least give some feedback on these new style batts in hopes that if many others are just as disappointed in them, maybe you'll fix it?

OK...I got it off my chest...sorry if I've aggravated anyone :(

For the record, the few manual full-sized batts with the bigger holes that I have gotten don't seem to be as big of an issue.

I guess I seem to be a little confused on which batteries are the "new" type and which are the old ones. I have a shorty battery which is a green auto multi logo that I added to my first kit which came with 2 regular autos. It worked great for the first week or so but then started acting up and Valerie was kind enough to replace it and the usb charger that would not charge any more. So I get my order today and I received a white auto battery with a single logo and this battery is slightly smaller than the green one I have. Problem with the white one is that I have to suck really hard to get anything out of it. I'm barely getting any air through the cart.

I assumed the ppl having issues with the new batteries with the bigger holes are getting a lot of air through but the switch will not activate easily, is that right? My issue with this white battery is that I have to try a lot harder to actually get a good hit because the air is not flowing easily. Kinda like sucking a thick milkshake through a straw.

Very confused an frustrated as I really liked the first shorty battery i had. This new one is just too much work to get it to work. Not sure if it is an issue with the battery or if it is just this way with the new batteries. Can someone let me know which one is the new type?
I attached pictures, let me know what u think.

Thanks

Onehung (funny name)...that is the same type of batt I am talking about. And it sounds like you are having the same issue as myself. At least very similar/related.

Bad thing is...I received 2 of those batts yesterday and will be receiving several more tomorrow...and they are almost not even usable.

I guess I'll give the condom-on-the-LED trick a try...

Edit: OK...just tried the condom-on-the-LED trick...I couldn't even get the sucker to light...lol

Same suggestion only different:

I use a staple to clear the holes of anything that might have found it's way in there since the day it was born. Also, I have found that long hard blows (I have already thought of the comments I would post to the previous sentence but by all means, have at it.;) ) from the LED end relieves some of the pressure. That's made my difficult XL auto much more user friendly.

So if the white battery is the newer style, this is where I'm getting confused as it has smaller holes than the green battery I had and it worked great for me.

so the batteries you received that are shorter than the others, do those have the larger holes? Cause my white battery is the shorter of the two shorty batteries I have but the holes on the white battery is smaller than the green one.

The holes on my new white & black short auto batts are larger than the holes in my other colored shorty auto batts. And it is the black/white auto shorty batts that I'm having the problem with -- which seems to be the opposite of the problem you're having. With mine the draw is easy, but it's like I'm drawing on nothing but air. I have to draw really hard to get the LED to come on and get any flavor (which is minimal) at all.

I have cut a piece of condom (as a sleeve) and covered the seem with it. It seems to give me decent flavor & TH as long as I'm using a Premium carto. If I take the sleeve off, then the batt won't cause enough of a draw to cause any vape at all...so with the premium carto I just get a mouth full of juice.

So at this point, the only way I can really use it is if I cover the seem with a condom as a sleeve & it has to be a premium carto.

They all work great, with the larger holes, puff softer, and longer....there, ya got it:D

Not rocket science here, my friend. These batteries ROCK. Patience and orictice will pay off big time:p

Enjoy

Steve:cool:

I understand what your saying about the batteries with the light draw. My first shorty was like that and it worked great ... for about a week. The replacement that I was sent needs a really hard draw to get it going and I cannot sustain it for more than 2 - 3 sec. or so. This is why I was so confused at which battery is the newer style.

Can you tell me which shorty batteries are the newer ones? The green multi logo auto I had that died is a little longer than the replacement white single logo battery that was sent. The green battery flashes 3 times when put on a charger while the white one flashes 5 times. Also the green battery has larger holes compaired to the white one.

Just trying to figure out which one will be the battery being sold going forward so I know if it will work for me or not.

Just judging by hole size i would guess that the slightly longer green battery is the newer type, is that correct?

What is odd is that the regular batteries that I ordered with my kit have the same size holes as the white battery and the draw on those are fine while the white battery is just bad.

Sorry for all the confusion on my part, just started two weeks ago and the good news is that I have not had an analog since I received my kit. Other than the issue with a usb charger and the battery I have been very pleased. I was just really surprised at the difference in the draw strength needed between the original shorty battery and the replacement that was sent. Which has led me to this point in trying to find out which batteries are which.

It just seems there are a lot of posts about methods (jamming a toothpick in a hole, using plumber's tape, cutting a rubber ring, etc. ) used to bring out this greatness.

There really is a learning process, to vaping properly. I remember when I started a few years back, I actually drove an hour to meet with a wholesaler, who taught me, I was pufn way to hard, overillin the atomizer, as well as just being WAY TO IMPATIENT.:p

That said, as hard as we try for QC, some bad ones get thru. If ya need a new one, V4L warantee comes into play here:D

One way, or another, we gonna help getcha vaping properly:rolleyes:

Enjoy

Thanks Steve. I'm at work right now. I've got several more of the shorties being delivered today. They should be there when I get home. Let me give those a try, and then we'll go from there.

Maybe I can call you guys with any issues then, or tomorrow? Or whenever you guys are open to take calls.
(the business number you have listed)

I appreciate your prompt responses.

Thanks for the replys Smilin, I have been working with Valerie and she did state that I just need to mention my issues about this battery on my next order and it will be replace. You guys definately have the best customer service that I have ever seen and I will be a V4Ler for life. I have already started turning ppl on to you guys.

Been two weeks since I started vaping and I'm really glad I started with V4L. You guys are the best in my book. No need to go anywhere else. Keep up the great work.

I loved the old white one with the notch. The newer one is the slightly longer one and without the notch the air suck noise is too loud IMO. But I don't like a draw that is too tight - IMO the notch was the best solution, not the bigger holes.

Well, I just got home from work & tried out my new shorties that came in today. They seem to hit a lot better than the ones I got the other day. Having said that, I'm using my black one (that I was previously complaining about) and I'm thinking that while it may never be my favorite batt, maybe I can get used to it. I give it one pretty strong primer pull...and then I'm trying to give it a light long pull after that. It seems that when I can keep the LED lit while doing that, I am actually getting an ok TH & vape. I guess I'm just going to try to get used to this one. It is probably just me.

Thanks for everyone's replies.

What notch are you refering too? I don't see a notch in either of the shorty batteries that I have.
