OK, after much anticipation, my new sidesho hybrid kit came in the mail yesterday. So far, I love love love it! Couple questions for anyone who can help me out...
The first thing I did when my batt was fully charged was put a pre-filled cart on the atty. I punctured the foil and twisted it about 360 degrees (which was harder than it sounds) and pulled it back off and picked the foil off the end of the atty. Just like the tips sheet said to do. Ok, now there's a little nick or gouge in the wire meshy stuff. Did I hurt my atty? I put everything back together and took my first slow drag. Got enough vapor to make me cough, although I'm sure some of that was primer. I got a few good hits of vapor, then less and less until I was getting barely any vapor at all. Maybe 15-20 pulls altogether, and only the first 5 or 6 did I blow out any kind of vapor after inhaling.
So, I switched to my other atty, thinking maybe I had somehow broken my first one when I twisted it in the cart. Again, a few really strong puffs (primer again?) then, next to nothing. Starting to get a little frustrated, and definitely a little cranky as I've had this thing for 3 WHOLE HOURS and still don't have it working perfectly! (LOL!)
I took it apart and looked at everything. This atty is kinda different. The wire meshy stuff is kinda sitting crooked, it's not straight like my other atty. My cart looks pretty dry on top, but when I push the white inner cart out, It almost looks like there is still some liquid in there. definitely not all the way dry! I messed with the stuffing a little with a safety pin and put everything back together. Another puff and this time it sizzles a little... Oh, no, did I somehow flood the atty and that's why I'm not getting any vapor?
I tried filling my own cart and again, starts off with a few great puffs, then quickly loses vapor strength. I gave up eventually and smoked a cig and went to bed.
So this morning I put a new prefilled cart on and I'm starting fresh. Got the nicked atty on, and have had several good puffs, with a few minutes in between puffs. Still very frustrated about last night, and I'm hoping today goes better. I thought doing all this research before getting my kit would make me uber prepared for anything, but I'm finding that all I'm doing is stressing about all the things I could be doing wrong!
So, does this sound typical to you guys as far as how my vapor is dropping off? I plan on doing some mods soon, but really just wanna get the hang of this first. Am I really just blowing through juice that fast? Is the poly wicking too slow, and I need to take more time between puffs? Am I flooding my atty? Maybe it's just not broken in yet? I really really really want this to work for me! Any reassurance for me this morning?

LOL! No, you can leave it here and perhaps a member with a Sidesho will jump on soon. I would PM Tony and ask him for help. Usually, when I go to the Modern Vapor forum, there are a couple of guys there ready to help out. I guess they all must be at work! I wish I could help you but I have the 902 and the atty is totally different. I started to get the Sidesho, they are really pretty with lots of colors! Sounds just like a woman! I certainly wish you luck and like I said, give Tony a PM if you don't hear from anyone but hopefully you will get some help shortly. Everyone is so great with helping all of us newcomers!

Hi lilmomma06!

I have had my Sidesho for about 3 weeks. I can tell you that it took a little while to "break in" my atty - fortunately I had read that would be an issue here on the forum, so I was prepared for a "breaking in period". After a couple days, it was vaping like a true champ! So my advice, for whatever its worth from one newbie to another is to give it a little time to break in. A couple primer puffs may help too.

Hope that helps a little. And do contact Tony. He's very helpful!

Just a suggestion but you two should check out the mod that autonymous has in the Modern Vapor forum. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks really interesting. I need to try that one tomorrow. I am using the PTB right now with the other two PV's but I think on the 902 and perhaps the Sidesho, the blue foam or what autonymous is doing will work better IMHO.

He just said blue foam, no mention of straws, springs, etc...LOL...
I'll definitely let you know if I get a chance to do it this evening. I'll be peeking in from time to time to see if anyone else has done this yet too, and I'll definitely check out that mod on the Modern Vapor forum. I'm a little worried about the PTB mod leaking, so I'll try this one first.

Okay, read it all. This is EXACTLY how I felt. And yes you will see a big difference after blue foam. Personally I don't see a need to get too complicated with a straw but we're all different. You'll find a link to see what the blue foam looks like in my post I linked above. Forget the pre-filled carts. after getting the blue foam, find some juice you like that has the right throat hit AND vapor for you. They're all different. I still use my Sidesho but have mostly moved on to Tony's 902. My wife still prefers the smaller Sidesho though and I can't blame her. I still use mine on and off too.

So glad that is isn't something I'm doing wrong! I've been dripping a little tonight, which makes a big difference, and hoping to get these attys good and broke in. I'll try the blue foam tomorrow for sure! I also have some vg/pg mixed liquids coming next week, which I hope will help even further. Doing better tonight than I was last night, and hopefully be doing even better by tomorrow! Good news is that even with all the trial and error, I've only had 3 1/2 analogs since 3 o'clock yesterday. I've been a little cranky, but soooo happy to be doing so well. I'm glad to hear that someone else has had this exact same experience! It makes me feel more hopeful that I will be vaping only very soon! I don't know what I'd do without all the good advice and support from this forum and Tony at Modern Vapor! A round of hugs for everyone.... on me! :D
