New Smoketip batteries

So my husband and I got the new "improved" Smoketip kit a few months ago. We had the old one and traded our old batteries in for the new ones too. So my question for anyone who has the new batteries: Do you notice them burning cartridges faster? I used to go through a cartridge a day, and now I'm going through two, sometimes a little more per day.

Has anyone noticed anything like this?
