New Stardust 'Bad' taste?

I just received an order of new Stardust 2.0 rebuildable clearomizers. The first tank tasted 'horrible', absolutely unvapable. I dumped the remainder of the juice, completely disassembled and washed thoroughly under the hot water tap and then proceeded to let them soak in a very hot water bath, dried overnight and then loaded with fresh juice and the bad taste persists. I am guessing that they are 'primed' with something but any suggestions on how to effectively clean?

Thanks

it's a good idea to dry burn them to get the oil off the coil, but that taste only lasts for a couple of hits.
Most of the complaints about taste with any of the new Vision products come from using to high a voltage. They are not Boge cartos, and all those concepts we had about volt/ohm combinations with cartos need to go out the window.

If you dry burn it a few times and the taste persits, I'd suggest contacting the vendor and explaining what steps you have taken and your results.

They should then ask you to send it back to them and they should either refund or replace.

Sometimes a bad one slips through the cracks :(

There are several things. Trouble is they come in so many revisions, I don't know what you actually have.

I had the very first version that came out and it had a persistent, nasty taste with all heads.

I thought, initially, that the taste came from the rubber o-ring at the bottom of the atomizer head that gets singed by the wires. I'm not sure if they fixed that, but now I know it's not really that causing the bad taste, but rather the 'free' resistance wire down the shaft of the atomizer head. Supposedly, again, that has been fixed in newer revisions, but you never know. The point is that I get a similar bad taste from Genesis atties when I have shorts or hanging loops of wire. It's the wire getting ultra-hot as it is not in contact with the juice. Interestingly, some units have that bad taste, some don't. Or maybe some people do not detect / care about that taste.

I know this doesn't help, but it's all I know.

    Thanks eflstone,
I suppose that makes some sense as the likelihood of two brand new coils being the issue is on the less likely side. Maybe I'll try a completely new unit instead of just changing the coil and see if that helps. These rebuildable one's are supposed to be the latest version but your hypothesis seems reasonable. I had one of the 'non' rebuildable 'long wick' versions and I liked it until it broke so I ordered a 'bunch' of the new rebuildable one's thinking they should be great. :(

Unrelated I take it by your Avatar pic you're a 'Longbottom Leaf' fan. I just ordered some Oak Barrel Cider and was going to try the Longbottom Leaf but I opted out at the last second. I take it your a fan?

    Thanks

Nice .. Wish I could afford one. Pretty pricy for me. Im a cheapo :toast:

Well, in time, you may figure that you spend that kind of money on cartos and clearos and other beta test experiments from Vision pretty fast. And a rebuildable will last you forever, and it will cost you cents a day, at most, to operate.

I would say that it is a hot spot somewhere but you say that it is happening on all of them. Don't some people take it apart and put a few drops directly on the atty. Then in the tank and tilt it back to get juice on the wick everywhere. I have an appollo tank and have to constantly tilt it back to keep the wick fully primed gets burnt taste easily if I don't. Sounds like it is just a bad design the best I have personally vaped so far is dual coil carto's from madvapes with the single hole and the 2.0 ohm ones with a tank has worked better than anything else I have used so far besides dripping but still get that nasty taste at the end of a drip. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't most have to directly prime the stardust.
