As a noob myself, I've been through a lot with my equipment. I use the V2 Stardust's with the long wick and here are a few tips and tricks to keep you up and running.
1). Bought 2 on my first purchase, 1 worked great, the other not so much....It leaked from the bottom where you are suppose to be able to unscrew it from the base to get to the replaceable head/tube. To fix this leak I simply used a thin strip (cut lenghtwise of teflon tape to cover the tiny threads at the bottom of where the metal base contacts the plastic "tank".
2). Had a leaking issue once where it was coming down the inner tube and puddling on my battery post. Dumped my e-juice, disassembled the tank from the base, and tightened the head. Leak solved.
3). Had a Stardust sitting around too long and you take a toke and it's gurgling? Yep, it's puddling on your battery for sure. Place a napkin over the mouthpiece and blow it out from the tank end. If leak persists check #2.
4). I use vodka or everclear to clean out some dark liquids, but even just a good rinse of the wicks then a squeeze dry with a paper towel will really clean them up.
5.) If you're running low on liquid in the clearomizer, hold it horizontally and turn it, soaking the wicks. I've found they hit best at about half full or a bit more. But you can vape one dry if you know how to turn/tilt it.
6.) Every few tanks or so, take it apart and at least hot water rinse the head, squeeze the wicks dry with a paper towel/napkin, and make sure the head is on tight.
7.) Old heads that aren't fried or to caked up can be cleaned in a hot water, vodka/everclear bath and then dried as above for spares. Very hard to tell the difference in new and cleaned heads, and in a few tokes, you wont even know. I have spares now that I can't tell from the new ones....I've since started a labeling system....
8.) Oh and the tiny grommets...if they are on the outside I can tell you where to get them....If you want them for the inside grommets...well you're insane. Actually both can be had at a local bike shop. Mountain bike forks, especially Fox Forks use tiny grommets that you may be able to find....I'd suggest just pitching it though because a Fox grommet and your time to find it will be the cost of a new Stardust. Really though, the most practical for us and if you have some ingenuity, is make grommets out of carto condoms (I can't take credit for this one, but it's ingenious).
Just my bit of advice. And oh yeah, if you have the know how to tinker, you can keep these things running forever....well at least until you can get a new one. And then you have tons of parts from the old one that you can use!
Happy vaping!!!!
