i dont think i ever properly addressed this, now that i have some downtime i feel like i should.
the reason i never offered up the 72 is... i ended up hiring a plexiglass fabricator to build me a negative pressure box when i got the 72mg in. even with that, the plastic gloves, and dual chambers, i still only felt ok mixing it while wearing a respirator and full suit. the stuff is dangerous as all hell.. i kept it stored in a locked safe that required a key and a combo to open it.
the real issue i have with carrying 72 for sale deals directly with toxicity, and not with informed consent. I would not feel ok shipping it via ups, usps, fedex as the customer knows the risk but your delivery person doesn't and never signed on to handle it. shipping via courier is expensive in most cases and far outweighs the benefit of an extremely strong mixing base. i believe people should take responsibility for their actions, especially when it comes to something like this which is why i give warnings. but if i tried to ship 72mg juice via normal means, while the postyal inspector may be informed of the risk, i can not be certain that everyone handling the box until it reaches the purchaser has been informed.
of course precautions can be taken like double walled bottles inside of a sealed membrane. but i have received shipments that quite frankly looked like the delivery company had decided to stress test the packaging by running over it after having left it in the rain for two days. so i set out to make something a bit safer that would still allow diy mixes of 36mg strength. the end result was a compromise. i originally wanted to do 40mg, but the people that intro'd me to vaping want heavy flavors, so 48 was the next best thing.
the next thing was to decide on a product size, i originally had planned on 100ml bottles, but decided that the risk was too high when it comes to shipping. next was 10ml since if one bottle gets messed up in shipping, it's not that big of a deal... after talking it over with the people that asked me to have it made, we all agreed that 15ml was a good standard size. 2 15ml bottle are only slightly more risky than 3 10ml ones, and nowhere near the hazard a 100ml bottle would pose.
if/when i reorder, i will be on the lookout for sponge material to line the boxes with to further reduce the risk if their is a spill. i believe i lined cosicans with a layer of absorbent sponge and added a few peanuts to keep everything secure. later shipments (except for the order for 10) were done using newspaper, the 10 order was done using newspaper and bubblewrap if i am not mistaken. i almost used shop towels for it as i wanted to make sure that the liner would absorb as much as possible before it reaches the cardboard of the box.
so there is my reasoning behind never offering 72mg for sale, and working up the 48mg product.
