Wow. There's always a new question, isn't there? :) This one is about tanks.

Short background. For my non-stealth (510, no eGo skirts) vape, I'm using a Vivi Nova and a Kanger Protank. I tend to stick with heads at 2.4 ohms.

My complaints: The Vivi is a top feeder, and keeping the wicks wet is a pain, as is not being able to vape everything in the tank without considerable "swirling". The Kanger has a stainless steel drip tip, which is dry and cold, and frankly looks a little like an "adult toy", in the sense that it's all smoothed out. I'm an edgy person.

Additional concerns: I sometimes like citrus flavors, which can crack plastic tanks. I'm also very lazy, so I HATE fiddling around with stuff, hence "no cartos".

Having said that, I'm looking for a tank that won't crack, has plastic drip tips (or can be used with a standard plastic drip tip), has roughly the same capacity, and is a bottom feeder.

Any thoughts? I'm looking at the Protank2, but appreciate other suggestions. Thanks in advance!

K.

I think at the present time the Kanger Protank 2 with the option to choose your own drip tip is your best bet. Kanger's Evod is another bottom fed clearo; it has a non-replaceable plastic mouthpiece.

Smoktech makes a pyrex Vivi Nova clone but it is another top feeder. They also make the pyrex Aro but I'm pretty sure it has a metal tip and also a top feeder (?).

The Kanger has a stainless steel drip tip, which is dry and cold...

I hate that metal tip too, so cold, especially annoying on the first vape of the day. Also do not understand why the protank has to be so fat and clunky. I'm tempted by the Aro, which is pyrex and appears more streamlined, but it has a metal tip too, and doesn't appear to have a replaceable coil. I am done with replacing whole clearomizers at $4 to 8 dollars a pop when you can just get new coils.

I wish I had the perfect answer, but I'm a bit backed up on my supply of the T3S bases that turn your T3 into T3S, and the 1.8 ohm replacement coil 5-packs, except that about every third coil in those 5-packs malfunctions, shorts out your battery, or just doesn't make contact and does not fire, and has to be tossed.

Vaping is an expensive hobby. Oy. If only I had the wherewithal to manufacture. We'd all have that bottom fill replaceable coil glass clearomizer in an attractive design with multiple color options, inexpensive, and with a silicone or rubber coated tip. I don't understand why Kanger or Joye or Smoktech or any of them can't get it right.

Since others have suggested a cartotank, I'll add my :2c: :

Cartotanks have been my preferred juice attachment for over 1.5 years. They provide fuller flavor production than any clearomizer could hope to. They require only a few more minutes of initial setup time from a clearo and have no maintanance between tank refills. Only a small learning curve and with experience they are as easy as a clearomizer.

Is it a carto, a tank, or what?

Thanks to you all. As you can tell by the title of this thread, I was a little bit against cartotanks at the beginning of it, but on the basis of so many votes for them, I'll be trying them, too. Thanks for making me spend even MORE money.
Seriously, though - As always, ECF is a wealth of information, and it's people like you guys that deserve the credit. I have a beer in my hand right now, and although you can't see it, I'm toasting each and every one of you. :) :toast:
