I am trying to pick out a new RTA for my brother, He has the Subtank Mini and hates it because it leaks. I have replaced the O Rings and used the tank myself and I get no leaks, I hand it over to him and it starts leaking again. He likes to carry in his shirt pocket so no leaking is a must. I got him the Cubis and he loves it but the rba section is a little unfriendly.
I am wanting to find an RTA so he does not have to keep buying stock coils. I was thinking the Griffin but since I don't have one yet (Griffin 25 on the way for me) I don't know if it has leaking issues or not. I was also looking at the Wotofo Serpent, the Avocado and a few others.
He does not like a real airy draw, any suggestions appreciated.

I just bought Billow V3 25mm, seems to be similar to griffin except with much easier wicking.

I love my Goblin Mini and it NEVER leaks but it doesn't hold much and filling it sucks out loud.

My out and about tank is a Chuthulu due to its 100% perfect track record of never leaking but they are hard to find these days.

The Serpent is a great tank. I'm not a huge fan of single coils but with the right build its ok and doesn't leak.

But prolly my best choice would be the SXK Wine. Again single coil but stupid simple to wick for leak free carry. Its also pretty darn small for a 5ml tank.

I saw the SXK Wine is bottom fill, he wants top fill. I am looking for something that has less airflow but not too tight a draw. Paul BHC may be right about him drawing too hard and flooding the coils on the Subtank Mini. He usually has the airflow set half to full open on the subtank and all the way open on the Cubis so he is not exactly a toodle puffer but he doesn't like a real airy draw. Can anyone say how the Griffin without top airflow is? Or the Avocado?

I have the serpent, Cthulhu and recently the OBS Ace. For me none of them leak unless I screw up my build or open the JFC to much.

The Ace is a nice tank and pretty easy to build. All are single coil.

And for what it's worth I own several STM and only use the RBA head. I can lay them down on their side without leaking, as long as I build them properly and use enough cotton.

I have 2 Griffins and have not had any issue with leaking. They will blow some condensation out of the air holes every once in a while, but no leaks.I've been using them a few months now,and they quickly became my favorite rta.

Thanks for all the replies. I am still thinking either the Griffin or the Serpent Mini. I had even thought of a Kayfun, but he is beyond that and likes sub ohm coils. He has also expressed a desire for something that he does not have to buy coils for. I will be building his coils and wicking them for now.
I get my Griffin 25 tomorrow and then I can play with the airflow and wicking and see if that will work for him, if not I will probably just order him the Serpent Mini. If he doesn't like it, I probably will:)

On another note, I just got the TF RDTA and it is da bomb. I am loving it and planning on ordering another one. I hope I like the Griffin25 as well. I am also planning on the Boreas and maybe a Billows V3. I will never buy coils again. The TF RDTA does not leak but a little too much airflow for my brother.

I think your brother and I are in the same boat. I'm going to be paying attention to your recommendations. ;)
What ohm coils do you like Lannie? If you have a TFV4 then you will love the TF RDTA. A juice hog for sure but since you DIY... Also, I have a new recipe I made by accident I will PM you

I like .5 ohms the best. Usually at around 40 watts, give or take, depending on the mod. I don't have a TFV4, I don't even know what that is, although I've heard it mentioned a lot. I just never looked into it. What does "TF" stand for? How would I find such a beast online to check it out?

Oh, and thank you SO much for the recipes! I noticed you had PM'd me and didn't know why you were giving me recipes, but I NEVER turn down a recipe! I don't have all the flavors needed, but I'll be ordering some more flavors soon (and again every month or so for as long as I can), so I'll add them to my list. :) Thank you! I have so many recipes now, some on little 3x5 cards in a card file, some still on notepad scraps bundled up in a big paperclip... I'ma have to make a big book to put them all in! LOL!

Actually, I only need strawberry ripe (which was on my list already anyway) and the black cherry. I have all the rest. :)
I remembered from the Mod Wompers thread that you did DIY and I wanted to share some Vapelicious recipes with you. Great summertime Juice anyway, the TF stands for Taste Furious??? I don't get why, it does drink the juice but easy to build on. Check My Vapor Store (MVS) or Eciggity for RTA or rebuildable tanks. I am looking at YouTube videos on the Serpent Mini now.

You shouldn't have a problem getting flavors as they were originally made for candy and baking, The Flavor Apprentice is a branch of Perfumer's Apprentice that sells scents for soap and lotions and perfumes. More important to stock up on Nic then flavors in my opinion.

Thanks, I'll look at those. :) Yeah, you remembered right about the DIY. My new nickname is The Mixtress. LOL! I have become a fearless mixer - nothing is beyond my imagination! :)

I think we have enough nic to last the rest of our lives now, but I saw verbiage about "flavorings" in there, so I'd rather be safe than sorry. They'll keep. And if nothing happens regarding them, at least Rich will be happy he won't have to pay for any more flavor orders for a while! After I'm done stocking up, that is. ;)
