Thanks again Vchick. The CE2 looks like it might work. I don't understand how it works with the atomizer on top but I don't have to understand it. It just has to work. :)

Looks like he would end up having to refill the 510 tank too often since it holds so little liquid. Great videos. Lots of food for thought.

Just a follow up. Hubby is breathing a bit better this am. I am hoping it was just a bug and all this work finding different equipment will all be moot.

All you guys/gals are the greatest. Don't know what I would do without all the help/info I have gotten here.

I got sick at 3 months as well. Started coughing up quite a bit of nasty colored phlegm and it lasted about 2 weeks before it cleared up and I had a much much larger lung capacity. Good luck to you and your hubby stick with it 1 day at a time!

Thank you dankie. It helps hearing about what others have gone through. His main problem is running out of breath with the slightest exertion. Hopefully we will get a handle on this soon. Hanging in there 1 day at a time.

How long has it been since you both started vaping...I also experience sum wheezing and pain in the area I would characterize as the top back of my lungs, when I first started vaping. It would usually be alright by the next day, but would happen again. I don't know to what the extent you are experiencing this wheezing, mine just felt like sharp needles in my lungs.

I would say consult a physician...

At the same time, if you had just started vaping (your join date says nov, though so I could be wrong), but I find that a lot, if not all of the symptoms I attributed to starting e-cigs, was actually from quitting analogs... just a thought, drink lotsa water:)

If you don't have a problem with box mods. Then may I suggest you look into bottom feeders. They are great with atomizers and so, you don't have to worry about filler material. If your budget permits, then I would recommend that you take a look at REO's. They are made to last and easy to use.

Afraid the Reo is out of our budget but thanks for the suggestion. In trying to get a handle on this he is neither smoking nor vaping this am. I pointed out to him this morning that I have a new atomizer and he could try just dripping. that way if it is the filler material causing the problem he will be totally bypassing it. At this point he just wants to try cold turkey.

He hates to go to the dr but is at least considering it. I can't blame him for not wanting to see a dr. He spent 7 weeks in the hospital in 2010. (totally unrelated to the subject at hand) so he is not looking forward to a dr visit. If this doesn't improve though I will insist.

I have been smoke free for a little over 3 months but for him it has been a little less than a month. He has been a smoker for almost 50 years. And at times he was up to 3 pks a day. I feel like it is just a transistion but this is something he has to work through. I will help him in anyway I can but will not try to push him.

His main concern is it seems like he isn't getting enough oxagin (can't spell it). Not wheezing or coughing.

If we don't see improvement soon I think he will go to the dr. Thanks for trying to help.

There is a good chance (IMO) it's not vaping related , it is flu season , dr. sounds like a great idea "just in case "

I think you may be right but he thinks he should be over it by now if it is a bug. Some of those bugs going around these days are vicious little critters and are hard to get rid of.

UPDATE: I had an atty laying around and was telling him about just dripping a few drops and vaping that way. That is what he has been doing all day and really liking it. He said it doesn't cause the tightness in his chest.

Really surprised me when he agreed to try it. He was so close to going back to analogs. I am a happy camper tonight. I ordered 5 more attys today. i want to make sure he has everything he needs to make this work.

Thanks everyone for all the good info.

I'm just curious. Does your husband draw the vapor into his mouth or directly into his lungs? A lot of first time vapers try to direct inhale and they have problems with it burning their throat and lungs. When I first tried to get my son into vaping, he said they were too harsh for him until I taught him to take the vapor into his mouth and then slowly take it into his lungs. He was puffing out vape rings in no time.

I'm not sure if this is the case with you guys, but your story sounded similar so I thought I'd throw it out there.

Also as mentioned from someone else above, your lungs will start to heal and kick out all the built up stuff from smoking which could be causing his issues and will subside over time.

I think the way he is doing it is part of the problem. I think he does try to pull it down into his lungs too quickly. I mentioned that very thing to him yesterday. I really think with time he will get past the problems he is having and won't even think of going back. He is past the main hurdle. He has the "want to quit" and to me that is the main thing.

Thank you for your help.
