What is the thing with batteries not going in your checked baggage? I read over and over they must be in carry-on's but nobody says why, is it a safety thing?

I'm traveling to Mexico in a few weeks and was just planning to dismantle my e-go, put the battery with empty clearos in my ego case, in my checked baggage. juice with other liquids in my toiletry case, also in checked bag. No bueno?

I planned to take 1 small pack of analogs in my purse just so I can have a couple before leaving Toronto, and when I get off the plane in Mexico. I'll deal with filling my e-cig when I get to the hotel.

Mexican customs agents scare me, I don't want to deal with having to explain anything if I can avoid it, lol.

I've been to Mexico many times with my ecigs. Never had a problem. I was only carrying eRolls at the time though, but had bottles of juice.

They had the random push button, if it's green you're good to go without a search, if it's red they search your bags. I've been lucky the last 8-10 times entering in the course of a 1.5 yrs and always got the green light.

In a couple weeks, I'm going to be bringing a lot more juice, my ego twist, nautilus and provari and hope I get the green light again.

I would bring everything carry on. You never know if Mexican officials will search your checked baggage and take all your vaping supplies, I've heard vaping supplies are really expensive and hard to get in Mexico. It's safer to have it on you so there's less chance of something going missing.

Thanks so much for the info!
