I am new to all this. The dr has been telling me for 2 years to quit smoking due to health reasons. Last week the doctor said ASAP. I go back in 2 weeks and want to tell him I have not smoked a real cigarette. I am lost as to all of this. And excited about learning. There is a wealth of info on here so I have a lot of info to read about. Any help w lingo or suggestions on anything wld b appreciated.

Hi, Sldplaw and welcome to ECF.

It will take a while to get up to speed on the info contained on ECF.

You might look with the various vendors found listed on ECF for a starter kit...a lot of people use an Ego type device with clearomizers to get started.

You might also consider purchasing a couple of eliquid samplers from a couple of ejuice vendors. Ejuice vendors with sampler ejuice packs may also offer starter kits.

My first vendor was RWVapors. I see Ross has an Ego starter kit with one battery, a clearomizer, a charger and a 15 ml bottle of eliquid. You should have a 2nd battery and more than one clearomizer. RWVapors RY4 ejuice flavor is well thought of. There is an ejuice sampler available there as well.

Expect to consume 2ml to 6ml of ejuice per day, though that could vary. If you are a heavy, full-flavored smoker, you might want to start in the range of 24mg of nicotine per ml.

Do a little research...expect to spend approaching $50 to get started...

I just started a week ago, and quit smoking, with a ego starter kit. Believe me, I haven't craved at all.

I was lucky enough to have found a actual store I could go to, and buy what I needed. Actually, they were able to explain what I needed, because it's really confusing at first. Perhaps try to see if there is a store in your region, because the immense amount of information on the internet is quite daunting.

One last point. I was worried that the $50 price for my starter kits seemed like a lot, but I basically made my money back in 7 days, from money saved through not buying cigarettes. And now I just need to keep the e-liquid handy, which is way cheaper than smoking. If you find that you are in it for the long haul, you've have to buy replacement parts, and backup batteries, etc. but after a week and a half, I'm convinced that its going to be much much cheaper in the long haul.

Good luck, and I hope you try it out, and find the experience as wonderful as me. BTW, I've only tried one flavour, RY4, and really like it! I've only tried one, so, not sure how much that recommendation is worth? Cheers.
