Hey guys I'm getting into building coils for an RDA but I'm really new to it. So I have a few questions.
1: how to control the ohms. I understand the lower the ohms the faster the coils heat up. And there for more vapor is produced. But i m not quite sure how to control it. Alright to start. If I want more resistance do I wrap more coils? Or less? I always see 4 wraps or 12 wraps. And some have high ohms and lower ohms.
2: does the gauge kanthal affect the ohms rating? For example. Does 28 gauge kanthal produce more resistance than 24 gauge kanthal? Or vise versa?
3: does the amount of coils affect the resistance? Does a dual coil build have less resistance than a single coil build? Or more? And does a quad coil build have even less resistance than a dual coil?
4: and finally. I want to have to saturate my coils the least amount of time. As in I want to take more puffs without having to add e juice as often. So which build is the best for the most puffs?
by the way I have a doge RDA.
Thanks everyone!

Alright I'll try to keep this simple in answering...

1- more wraps means more resistance.
2- Higher gauge kanthal is typically easier to work with but heats a little slower
3-Goin dual coil with two identical coils will halve the resistance. I.e. a single 1.4Ω coil will be 0.7Ω in dual coil. 0.35 in quad
4-Higher resistance builds will go through less juice but produce less vapor. Get an rda with a large deck.and theres no problems.

Hope that helps answer your questions and welcome to ecf and the world of coil building

Welcome to the wonderful world of build your coils. Great questions.
1. lower the ohms the faster the coils heat up, more resistance = wrap more coils,
2. The lower the guage kanthal the less wraps you have to do for a lower ohm vape. (ex. 4 wraps of 24.g will have a lower ohm than 4 wraps of 26g)
3.the more wraps in one coil = the more resistence on that one coil. But once you add onther coil next to it your total ohms will be rduced. so the more coils the lower ohm build you will have.
4. If you want to drip less you may want to build a higher ohm build. that way your not burniog through so much juice. I would suggest using 28 gauge wire around 6-7 wraps dual coil.

I have a Manhattan clone. I have an ohm reader. And my battery is a ultra fire BRC 18650 3000mah 3.7v li-ion battery. But I'm not sure of the amp rating...and no I don't know the battery safety information. I'll look into it now.

For starters, get another battery. Those batteries are not safe chemistry, and if something goes wrong, they will go boom. Do some research on these forums.

Some info on batteries, and some recommended batteries, too: Taste Your Juice | BATTERY INFORMATION
