Need help on coil build

Hi guys I recently bought a authentic copper penny mod and I have the dark horse rda sitting on top of it and inside of the rda I have a dual coil 24 gauge kanthal build with 10 wraps on each coil and it's still getting way to hot anybody know of a better build for this setup? I'm also sitting at .28 ohms

If its to hot for you you need to up the resistance. higher gauge kanthal or changing the build with for exampe more wraps or larger diameter should raise hte resistance

Well, either or both, you need more air and/or your wicking is off for the watts you are vaping. you are pushing 60 watts and everything has to be in balance at the level. Would either go to a single coil, put more wraps in each coil, or go to say 26 gauge with the same build. Would shoot for at least 0.50 ohms for the build until more experienced.

It's not to hot on my throat the coils are getting a black layer on them almost like charcoal and the reason I went to a dual coil is because a single coil was burning my throat up. What build would you guys recommend with 26 gauge?

The wicking Material is cotton bacon could that have any effect on it?

The coils are qoing to change to a darker color. thats normal. as long as it isnt burning your wicking material you should be fine

I got a 26g dual build 2.5mm five and a half wraps at 0.4Ω its going good.

Been using it for a week on the dripper and no black on the coils. Using rayon i haven't used cotton bacon.

Im using reg mod though 45 watts atm.

i use 28g for my builds and just dry burning after i first mount them for adjustment discolours them. not black like you held them over a lighter but definitely darker. and without burning the wicking material they go fairly black after a few rounds of dripping. different flavors seem to do this at different rates depending on ingredients. i vape at 20-30 watts on a dual coil seven wrap build that comes in at 0.8ohms. im using oranig japanese cotton

My go to build on the darkhorse is a dual 26awg 6 wrap twisted on a 2mm rod.

Great flavour and clouds.

I would suggest trying a differnet e liquid. The buildup you see can be cuased by the residue left behind from thick juices.
