I've been DIYing for a couple of months now and don't use needles. I don't measure the ingredients out by milliliters but by number of drops (assuming 20 drops per ml). Of course, the flavor extracts already come in dropper bottles so they're no problem. The VG (Humco brand from WalMart) comes in a plastic bottle with a screw cap. I replaced the cap on that with a large dripper tip. I bought several of those with bottles (100 ml maybe, idk) from Hobby Lobby (item #102194). I also use those bottles for unflavored nic liquid, PG, and vodka so I can squirt drops straight from the bottle. I fill those up from the original bottles when need be with a large pipette (scored a bunch of those for free, my wife works in a lab).
I like having it set up to where I don't have to fool with pipettes, droppers, or needles everytime I want to make some juice. Counting drops works really well for me. My juices come out consistent enough for my liking.

If you're uncomfortable with syringes, stay away from them, period. You're totally within your rights and reason to do so.

A set of graduated cylinders would serve you well

Graduated Cylinders, and Test Tubes

wizard is out of a few of the bomex (glass) sizes, but shoot him a message and ask when they'll be back if those are the sizes you want. as far as glass vs. polypropylene, with glass smells and tastes will wash out very easy, but the juice will stick to the glass a bit more so you may lose about .1ml or so per mix, not a big deal

the polypropylene will tend to absorb aromas and tastes a bit more, making washing them out a bit more laborious, but on the flip side juice doesn't cling to the sides as much and there is a tad less loss (again, either way not a big deal)

that's another source for graduated cylinders, and there are others

if I can help with anything else please let me know

I have to agree with Cyrus, stay away from the syringes at least until you are 100% comfortable with them. Liquid can be made and done accurately with out them. Use the graduaded cylinders for measuring your nic base, pg & vg and use the drop method for flavors. The are no set rules and as long as it is repeatable you'll do just fine. Using the super concentrated flavors would make this easier on you as the flavor drop count would be much lower. In my opinion they are better flavors and much easier to get a successful vape.
