I have been wanting to create my own liquid but i don't have the slightest idea of where to get the supplies. I want all vg, but i am skeptical on where to but it from. Also, i love my fruity flavors as well as my mocha and cappuccino flavors (i have yet to find a good cappuccino mix online, I bought a 10ml when i went out of town at a local shop in Lincoln, Ne and it was to die for, but i have been out for 8 months and cannot find a decent mix). so where would be the place that i buy flavorings too. I am not going to jump right into it. I will research first and then take it slow and experiment, but i want the supplies in front of me. Do you guys know of any shops in your town that carry the supplies, or even a reasonable shop online. I would like to mix organic.I know everyone has different shops in their town but its worth a try. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

You are at the right starting place. This forum (and this sub-forum) is full of excellent information. Read the DIY stickys, then read them again. Read the DIY blogs, over and over. Make notes on the experts advice. Careful now, you might just find a little bit of conflicting advice - but, that is because taste is so subjective. Ask questions when you have them. You will get good answers. Follow links in threads and you will find even more information.

After a while you will feel ready. There are several supplies out there. Location, variety, price, etc., all vary. Decide what flavors you want to start with (simple first) and order the stuff you need.

Ok, that is what I am doing. For 2 weeks I have read, read, and re-read. I have only minimized my confusion. I ordered my stuff from Wizard Labs and am very happy with what it looks like. Since I have yet to mix my first mL, I can only comment on the looks. The experts in here tell me that this is a good vender. My son is a chemist and he agrees with me.

My adopted mentor is Dannyv45 - read his blogs!

Another DIY place I use (and there are many!).

Do It Yourself Shop - Vices Electronic Cigarettes

I have been reading on the forums, but i think this site has really helped. The main problem i am having is where to buy the supplies, (syringes, pipettes, VG, etc...) and i think i might order from that site. I'll probably get the flavorings from Lorann's since they are very trustworthy. When i get more experienced i will check out other sites.

I have read for hours, collected pages of notes, spent a small boatload of $on DIY liquid & tools (toys). But, I have yet to mix a drop.

The balance of my flavors arrive today. I will then have everything I need to start. Tonight I will make my first batch. I ordered 40%NIC in two 120 mL bottles. One VG and another PG. Also ordered a 500 mL of each base (VG/PG). My first challenge is to create 60mL of 12% at 50/50. Why 50/50? Because that way I can vary away from this as I get smarter. Everything I have bought retail so far has been 50/50. I do not know which is better - more PG or more VG. I will then create one single flavor. Tomorrow I will see how I did.

I have read that you must use distilled water - if you use water. Bathroom water has too many minerals and chemicals present. Others suggest high end vodka and/or PGA. Others mention apple cider vinegar, lemin juice...and too many other things to remember. I mentioned that my son is a chemist. He will will be very helpful as we interpret my results... Only one problem here - he doesn't smoke!!!

Remember one thing. If we waste half of our first set of chemicals, and only get use out of the balance, we are still ahead of the game financially.

Everything I have ordered to date is around $100.00. This includes flavors and glassware that will not be consumes in the first batch. For this, I have a total of 1250 mL of future juice. That is $0.08 per mL. Retail locally I am paying $1.00 per mL. Internet orders get it for around $0.50 per mL. So, go ahead, make a mistake or 2, who cares???
