new to dripping looking for some advice

hi, i have just started tinkering with rebuilding. i have a numbus clone.
bare with me my device is the mvp 2.0 which ive heard isnt ideal for the lack of power.
my question is what is the best build and wicking to get the best flavor?
i built a single coil wrapped on a 1.4mm screwdriver at 15 wraps. it came out to 1.7ohms
i wicked it with japan cotton pads i ordered. it seems to fire good but flavor is barely there.
im using 80/20 liquid and have tried every setting on the device.. can anyone help out. thanks

What gauge kanthall are you using?

I would recommend jumping on YouTube and checking some intro videos on coil building. Search abbyvapes and riptrippers. Rip gets more on depth and Abby's coil bids are a great beginner perspective.

That's a lot of wire mass, the 11 watts that the mvp2 is capable of just won't be enough to fire that build to your satisfaction. With 28ga, I suggest 8 wraps around a 2mm bit. Will get you near 1.2 ohms, and will be easier to wick as well. 11 watts will fire that pretty nicely.

Save up for a 30 or 50 watt device and you'll be enjoying your rda sooooo much more. With the mvp2, you'll just be getting by.

Make sure to check your build with an ohm reader or DMM before putting it on your mod and firing it.

I recently went through the transition to rda. It was a good move for me! I was limited to 20 watts rather than 11. I am unsure of the afc on a nimbus. I didn't have any. I struggled with muted flavor until I put in a 2mm 9 wrap coil and taped one of the air holes closed. I have a more powerful device now and run the same in dual. I use 28 wire and just enough ... cotton to hit the deck.

If someone would have posted a similar reply to my post when I was in the same boat as you I could have saved 6 feet of wire and a quarter sheet of cotton

I had the same mod and I tried to drip with it at 1 ohm and it just doesn't work well. The MVP will fire down to .7 ,8 but even at max volts and watts 5/11 I got horrible vapor production.

My advice is get a 50w or higher mod. I just got an istick 30w yesterday And already wish I had more power. It's a whole new ballgame when you start dripping!
