Issue with Kayfun Lite Plus

Hello all, first time posting here.

I recently purchased an authentic KFL+ from Cloud9 (I've had it about a month now). Being my first rebuildable, I botched it multiple times at the beginning, but took it to a local shop and had it rebuilt. Let me tell you, KFL+ is where it's at! I was happily vaping from day 2 of owning this device up until a couple days ago where I ran into an issue that I cannot figure out so here goes, I really hope somebody can offer some advice!

I noticed that after DEpressing the fire button on my MVP2 the coil would still burn (not a complete fire, but significant enough to produce a small amount of vapor and make that crackling noise) for the next couple seconds, and it affected the quality of my vape. I first assumed it was something wrong with my build, which is by the way, a micro coil, 9 wraps of 30g around a 1.4mm precision screwdriver with cotton wick. Which is strange because that build had served me very well running at 10 watts for the past couple weeks. Anyway I rebuild it and the same thing is happening. So I end up taking the entire device apart, cleaning everything (this includes the center post, insulator, positive and negative screws, etc) and putting it back together. At this point, the issue had stopped. It no longer continued to burn after depressing the button, but I was getting lower vapor production than normal, and an extremely significant cut in flavor. I mean, like I can barely taste the juice any more. Also there was a whistle when I vaped. So I took it apart again, reassembled everything, built myself a new coil, same as always 30g 9 wrap 1.4mm and cotton, made sure to tighten the center post as tight as I could without harming anything (possibly too tight) and went at it. Flavor was still very low, vapor production wasn't on par. So now I took it apart again!!! Put it all back together, made sure not to tighten the center post too tight and rebuild it using 10 wraps of 28g around 1.4mm it's reading 1.1 ohms (standard for me) and I cannot seem to get the flavor to come back to normal, vapor production is low, and it is a very unsatisfying vape compared to what the KFL+ normally vapes like. So I'm posting here to see if anyone has any clue at all about what's going on. I'm assuming it has something to do with the connection between the mod and the coil, but I really have no clue. Any help is much appreciated!!

Hi and Welcome to ECF :) Your issue may be because the MVP2 has a 3 Amp limiter. At 10 Watts and 1.1 Ohms you are on the line of the limit it can take. (You can use an ohms law calculator if you dont want to do all of the math manually)

Try going around 1.5-1.8 Ohms and you will probably get *much* better performance and your battery will thank you :)

Thanks I will definitely take that into consideration next time I build. I seemed to resolve the issue. Essentially what was causing the issue (I'm guessing, because it's fine now after I switched up this thing) was to make sure the air hole on the center pin lined up with the air hole on the outer rim of the tank. That and a fresh rebuild with a 11 wrap 28g microcoil around 1.4mm coming out to 1.3 ohms did the trick. I'm also planning on purchasing a Nemesis clone tomorrow so I'll post back with how that goes!

I had a similar issue, which turned out to be a wicking issue. I only use my kayfuns on mechs which I know for a fact do not autofire.

Turned out to be a wicking issue for me as after 1 or 2 sizzles post letting go of the firing button I was in dry hit city.

I rewicked with less cotton and that solved the issue for me for the most part. Worst case scenario is if it happens now is I give her a quick priming draw or two and I am right as rain.

Can you be a bit more descriptive? I don't really understand what you mean. I sort of have the same issue

The center pin that makes the connection from your mod to the coil plateau is hollow, with a hole in the center of it. For me that hole is perpendicular to the direction of the line that the flathead fits into. You'll want to align the hole in the center pin with the air hole on the side for maximum airflow. Also be wary of liquid or water getting into that center pin. Occasionally you'll want to take it out and blow out any liquid because that can also cause issues with airflow, and the flavor of the vape, and vapor production. Let me know if that fixes your issue, I'm curious!

Can you clarify "autofire"? After inspecting the wick after running the Nemesis, I found that it was pretty burnt. I used less cotton this time to test it out but I'm assuming the mech gets the coil a little too hot for the amount of cotton I had in there, which was perfect for vv/vw.

Edit: The strange part was I tasted no burnt cotton whatsoever vaping through 2 tanks of Alien Vision "Bee's Knees" (Which btw, is delicious as hell. Highly recommend Alien Vision juice). So I'm thinking it was just slowly burning, bit by bit. Because I didn't get a single dry hit.
