New to e-Cig (experience)

Greetings from Jakarta!

I've been smoking for 15 years (clove and white cigs), clove cigs with 32mg Tar and 1.8mg Nic and then white cigs with 8mg of Tar and 0.6mg of Nic.
Recently i've switched to vaping(SVD) with 6mg Nic/10ml content (Dekang triple mint+triple menthol+flavour), and i have to say i've successfully divert my cravings for Cigs to vaping completely! hurraayyy:)

Unlike what i've read in the forum, my withdrawal syndrome kicked in directly on the end of 2nd day i switched.
It hit me hard, my nose was runny and stuffed(less now), my throat was painful, i was having fever till the next day(chugging half a bottle of cough syrup kinda helped) and then i started to cough Tar oyster and having gigantic green or brown snot coming out from my nose...:(

I'm on my 5th day now, and i have to say it feels amazing and annoying at the same time:laugh:
My throat still feels dry when i just started to hit the vapor but i fixed it with a bit cough drops.
I'm still coughing but not as often and no more oyster:D still having snot but it's clear.
My chest hurt a bit from all the coughing but nothing i can't handle.
Now i'm starting to smell things that i wasn't able to smell previously... while this is a great thing, it does annoy me when i eat exotic foods like durians or lots of onions:unsure:
I'm also starting to breathe better and sleep better and longer... i could take stairs without having shortness of breath.
I think that's it for now. i'm hoping to experience more in the near future.

Now... i do hope i develop quicker tolerance to the dryness of the vapor, i keep coughing the first 5-6 puffs after taking a break from vaping. I've heard that switching to more VG content could alleviate the problem but we do have lack of option in my country (most are Dekang, Liqua, and e-juice from Malaysia).

I will post an update later on.
Keep vaping!!

Congratulations! Welcome! Drink lots of water it really helps the dry throat! I'm on day 7 after smoking 2 packs a day for 25 years. Can't say I experienced those symptoms but I made sure and started out with 24 of nicotine so I wouldn't withdraw and I didnt! It has been a unbelievable easy transition. I was really amazed! If you feel you might be still withdrawing you might consider increasing your nicotine a bit. 24 works just perfect for me now. In the future I'll decrease.keep on vaping and again congratulations on not smoking!

Hi realsis!
Thank you for your reply,

I'm purposely cutting down the Nic while training my body to withstand little amount of Nic as i chain vaping.
And i think the maximum level of Nic we got here is about 12-13mg... small difference so why not all the way to minimum level right? (idk it seems kinda good idea for me though:))
Hopefully i've passed the worst (cross my heart).

If you've got the water intake to an adequate level, I spose less pg might be a good way to go....only trouble I've had going higher vg is that it doesn't wick fast enough for my style of vaping. Unless it's on a dripper than it's glorious!

I did watched several videos on youtube about drip tank...
But, i think i don't have the time and patience to keep dripping the juice (my line of work requires me to be very mobile).
And i was looking for a cotton wick mod but i heard it doesn't last long:(
So i think i'm stuck with standards, currently i use 2.1 ohm coil, i will try 1.7 ohm coil on Thursday.

1.8mg cigarettes to 6mg e-liquid!!

Wow... that has to be a world record.

Talk about cutting down on the nicotine.... INCREDIBLE.

WELL DONE. :)

Thank you good sir.
It was Djarum Super clove cig 32mg Tar and 1.8mg Nic, and Marlboro Ice Blast 8mg of Tar and 0.6mg.
3/4 to 1.5 pack a day.

I kinda tricked my throat and brain with using very strong Menthol and Mint to get the same hit like the first cig.
The crave is there, but i started to chain vape(5v SVD+ProTank3) like no tomorrow until it's gone.

Congrats for making the switch!

Keep in mind that even though you are staying adequately hydrated, vaping will dry out the surface of your mouth/throat. Bottom line: Vaping is after all NOT smoking, and the characteristics are different to be sure.

You might try sticking with blends that have a higher VG to PG ratio...should help a little, but over time most adjust to the difference with little problem.

I need to do more research on liquid with more VG content available in my place.
