Hi Everyone,

Just learned about the E-Cig today! Tried the patch, Chantix, lozenges, gum, cold turkey, etc. Nothing so far has gotten me off the sticks. I actually quit for two years and one night I had a few beers and here I am, back to square one. Planning on ordering a Joye510 starter kit soon...dipping my toe in and doing some research first.

Great forum!

youll love the 510. I originally had a volcano starter kit and went back to analogs.. they werent the same to me so I gave e cigs another shot and now im 2 weeks into my 510 and havent looked back.

make sure to keep your battery charged so you dont find yourself without a PV, and find some way to carry extra liquid, atomizers and batteries with you easily so youre always prepared. e-cigs take more effort and understanding than just lighting the end of an analog. dont let this turn you off, give it a few days and youll figure it all out and when a vape isnt producing the way you want youll be able to tell if your just out of liquid... if bat is dying.. or if your atomizer is on the frtiz

great maintenance videos showing how to clean and properly maintain your PV found on youtube.. check out user: moobyghost 's channel.

Hi Crazy, I'm new here too, and to e-cigs.

I've tried all the many ways to quitting there are, except the new "laser" acupuncture stuff. Nothing has worked. I've decided if I can't beat it, join it.

I fell on the e-cigarette by accident, and did lots of research on it before purchasing. My main research was this forum. Before I was a member, before I bought anything, I read these forums.
Go to "Forum/new-members-forum/96091-best-electronic-cigarette-first-time-vaper" and you'll see the comparisons. (sorry, I can't post a link yet)

I followed the thread how the two best beginner e-cigs are the Joye 510 and the KR808D-1. I chose the KR808D-1 because it's a two part system (with cartomizers - atomizer and cartridge in one piece/battery the second piece). It's easier and cleaner to use as a starter set.

I also built my own "starter kit" from two of the XL 380mah batteries, rather than the standard sized 280mah. More battery power, longer lasting (more than a day, typically). Bought the PCC for on the go charging and several different flavored cartridges.

I have to say I'm very happy with my purchase (thank you litecigusa.net ).
I've since bought a few more flavors, and some refill juice.

I guess all I can say is do your research. Even on Youtube.com there are hundreds of video comparisons, instructions of use, and tons of opinions. Take the good with the bad and trust your instincts.

the reason e cigs are great for quitting analogs is that, well..

being addicted to cigs is more than just an addiction to the cig itself. its the time you spend smoking... the oral fixation... the "break" it forces you to take, ect

e cigs give you all of that but with more options!

I loved to go outside for half an hour and relax.. look at the sky... ponder.. and smoke analogs. then when i tried quitting most of what i missed was going outside to smoke and clear my mind. I can smoke my e cig anywhere but I still LOVE to sit outside and puff on vapor.

remember.. e cigs take a little more effort at first but stick with it, youll wake up one morning in a few weeks and realize you dont even miss analogs. then youll be joining us in making sure these things dont get banned!

i second the kr808, cartomizers will remove the headache from your vaping experience and you'll have an overall better experience. I hear V4l has premium cartomizers that will produce great vapor, flavor and throat hit, but litecigusa is also a great option to assemble your own kit. Personally I use 510 cartomizers for the connection to 6v mods, but if you can beat the habit with a smaller device more power to you. Also remember to refill! These cheap little cartomizers can last a very long time, i'm at 6 weeks with my cartomizers at 6v and they're still working great!

I was just doing the ecigs to help someone else who needed to stop smoking real bad... health issues. I thought it might help me cut down. I am using m401s and one day just decided, while looking at my 3 analogs I had left, to try quiting. Hmm, just a few week in but so far so good. My breakthrough was the 36m nic juice.

CDJ, goes to show you never can tell. Good luck and welcome here!

I got my ecigs in the mail last Wednesday. I tore into the package like some rabid wolverine, threw down my last pack of Camel Wides and never looked back. 23 years of smoking tobacco and I had no problem switching to vapor. My wife is having a bit more difficult time with it, but she's getting there. She knows the benefits of the e-cig, it's the hard all at once nic hit of the analog she misses... and craves.

rabid wolverine lol
Btw your wife (jackal3) might be just going through the normal 'its hard to change' phase or she might need a little extra help like Sweidsh Snus (check out the smokeless tobacco subforum on ECF) to get her over the hump.

OP - Glad to hear, I love my 510 to bits, use it all the time, have since i got it from cignot back in december. I even still use the original crap life batteries lol. I have a mod (a mini vapestack from madvapes) and 2 PT as well now so Im not slaved to the those short life batts (I love the size/look of the orignal ones, which is why I still use them). I hope everything goes as well for you as it has for me - good luck! :thumb:

I started e-cigs last December (with a manual Joye 510) after being told about e-cigs from my physician. I'd tried smoking cessation clinics, aversion therapy, patches, gum, injections, chantix, etc. etc. and nothing worked. I was a fairly heavy smoker (1 to 1+1/4 pks per day for 40 years!) I stayed on just e-cigs at 36 mg for 2 days. I decided to try an analog cig (why I don't know, lol) and it was horrid tasting. In six months I've gone from 36 mg to 7 mg with no withdrawal or anxiety. I'm hoping to make it to 0 mg of nicotine. I smell better, my clothes smell better, my sense of taste has returned...ahhh life is feeling much better...I don't cough now, etc etc. With every other method I tried, I felt some sense of depravation or being denied something, while with e-cigs I feel as if I'm in control.
