New to E-cig

Hello Everyone,

I just recently quit smoking(jan 1 2014). I first started smoking the blu disposable ones everyday till it kinda got expensive spending like 10 bucks everyday. Now i am on !this fantasia e hookah but it does not do it for me. No throat hit at all so i find myself switching from blu and this hooka. Any suggestions on what i should get or what i should start with. I am trying to look for something that would give me lots of vapor and throat hit. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

If you want something that looks and feels like a cigarette, then I'd recommend getting like a 510 starter kit that's manually activated. There are a lot of really good products out there, like variable voltage pvs like Provari, lavatube, etc. It just depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. Personally I think making a little bit of an investment in the beginning is better in the long run because you'll have a better experience with the device and also won't have to mess with replacement parts a whole lot. I also definitely did not have a positive experience with Blu, had I not found this place then that Blu would have turned me off from vaping period.

Starter... look at ego batteries or itaste vv 3 or the best deal in my opinion the itaste mvp. That may run a little more but it will give you more options down the road if you want em... then id suggest a kanger protank 2 or a mini protank 2 this is more than the evod or other options but is glass and will not be damaged by lemon cinnamon lime cherry or other flavors...

That's my 2 cents if you have more questions feel free to ask... even later if you enjoy and want to progress farther

You don't have to spend the big bucks on a Provari right out of the gate. If you want a variable voltage device, you can get a Vision Spinner or eGo Twist for a fraction of the price, and it'll work fine until you get more acclimated to the world of vaping, and learn more about the available possibilities out there for the vaper. I personally recommend the carto tanks for your liquid holder. They are less hassle (in my experience over 2 years) and give a better, more flavorful hit. The clearomziers tend to hit a little weak....at least for me. I also had problems with leaking/burning etc. But try both. That way you'll know what is right for YOU.

Vamo v5 gives you quite a bit of clouds and flavors great....Zmax Mini is also very good. The Provari is one of the top of the line for vaping.

The ego is very smaller then the above listed. They work quite well.

Protanks and Aspire tanks are great cleaomizers.....Good Luck on your venture!!!

This is the starter kit that I recommend for new vapers who are looking for a better experience with the ability to fine tune their vape:

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

Or this kit: Innokin iTaste VV/VW V3 (You will need a few tanks as well, just pick up a few iClear 16s for some hassle-free vaping.

Good luck to you and search around online. Definitely go with an eGo twist type battery or the Innokin VV v3 so you can really dial in your vape and tailor it to they type of throat hit you are wanting. Cheers!

Everything is subjective. I do agree on you don't need a provari. I think the mvp is close to the price of the spinners though and for the added features the additional cost is worth it in my opinion, but try different things, enjoy it can be fun... oh and mountbakervapor offers IMHO good liquid at a great price with fast shipping, its not the best out there but you won't spend more .50 a ml on mbv...

Go with an eGo kit. TRUST me. As a smoker that COULD NOT QUIT and hated the convenience store ecigs with a fiery passion, once I got my first eGo it was like the gods shone their light on me. I haven't even had a strong craving for a cigarette since I got mine. It's literally the only thing that's worked for me. My kit is the Halo Triton. HaloCigs | Premium E-Cigarettes and E-liquid. I can't be more satisfied. It's incredibly easy to use and cheap to maintain.

Two things...

1) I'd recommend the ego starter kit - more powerful than a cig-a-like, not the jump that getting into a larger tube device would be. You might get to the vamo, zmax's of the world later, but then the ego would be your backup (which, my friend, you will need).

2) The lack of throat hit is not from the device, it's from the lack of nicotine. I'm thinking the hookah pen is nic free. This is a moot point given your desire to get new gear (with a refillable juice tank), but it is something to keep in mind when shopping for juice. In general, the higher the nic, the more TH.

Happy vaping.

MVPs seem pretty well regarded, though quite a few people don't like box mods - especially to begin with, when "simulating smoking" is the major consideration, rather than "enjoying vaping as a thing in itself".

I think the main problem perhaps is that they're integrated batteries. I know they have a pass-through, but for a lot of people quitting smoking that isn't going to work - you don't want to either stop for a few hours while it charges, or be tied to a USB socket.

In practise an MVP is going to mean an MVP plus another device to use while its charging for quite a few people. I'm not bashing them - I think they're a good recommendation for a beginner, from what I've read. But I can see why they're not universally recommended too...

thank you, i just had to ask... im past the beginner stage, i have actually reached nirvana and will only be making a few more purchases to have multiples... so absolutely amazing... figure i only need to make approximately 2 more mod purchases, maybe a third... naturally batteries to go with... and 3 to 5 rdas...

so a grand total of 200 to 300 for the mods, 40 for batteries... maybe 50... and 150 to 250 approx for the rdas... so if i get absolutely everything the grand total remaining until i only need to eventually replace batteries is... 600... but could be as low as 400... dont need any of it, and will slowly build over time... but i have found satisfaction and just want to ensure i have a back up and a back up for the back up, as well as a rda for each, and 1 to 2 additional rda so if i ever have an uh oh situation i can simply go and replace instead of having to rebuild while out and about...

wow way off topic... sorry... im just... ah so great... but this is not a beginner point, next step maybe depending on the person...

That's the trouble with advising beginners - there really are two distinct schools of thought: vaping is a journey, versus skip the cheap stuff and buy something dependable to begin with.

I think both sides have a point, and really all you can do is throw out advice however conflicting and let the poster decide. :)

agreed, hence me suggesting the mvp, it may not be for everyone but i feel it is a better deal, usable for a beginner, useful for intermediate... all in all a good set up...

realized i havent been on any of the other sections of the forum in a while... so thought id poke my head in...

As a beginner with a couple of weeks off cigarettes, I would recommend an ego set up. When folks are new, all the talk about expensive, top of the line set ups and all the voltage talk can confuse and frighten them. I know it did to me.

I had a Blu starter set that let me know that maybe the e cigarette route would work for me to stop smoking cigarettes. It was not really satisfactory, but I could see that the concept would work for me. I came to this forum and read a lot of beginner posts. Then I got a start up kit like this:

Kanger EVOD eGo Full Kit - Vaping Me

It is free shipping, and if you use the code ECF at checkout, you get 10% off, making it cost around $30. It comes with everything you need except juice, and you can get started vaping. If you decide you want to upgrade, it will make a nice back-up.

I personally love the size and convenience of mine, and plan on using it for a while. If it works, don't fix it, is my motto. And I'm still not smoking since I got it.:)
