New to E-Cigs and would like to know if I got ripped off.

Hello E-smokers. I've been wanting to stop smoking cigs and recently tried out some of those disposable gas station e-cigarettes and even though they sucked, I decided to take it a step further and get an Ego yesterday from a local smoke shop.

Here is what I bought:

- 1100mah eGo-T Battery (this one will lock if pressed 5 times fast)
- I'm not certain, but I believe the Clearomizer is an eVod bottom coil. No logo. probably a knock-off
- USB charger
- Case with plenty of room
- 0.5 fl oz. Booyaa Vapor juice (tobacco flavor) 12mg.
- Little squirt bottle for refilling
- Small black fold out manual that says "e-cigarette" and "Supreme electronic cigarette". Looks just like the eGo manuals i've seen online.

I paid $40 for everything. The guy wanted $44 and another $13 for the juice.

A friend of mine has a name brand joyetech eGo-T kit and mine hits a lot better. Big clouds.

Here's some pics. Any opinions?

Nope. That is actually a very fair price for what you got.

The only problem is that you only have one battery, so you are kinda SOL when it is charging. Get yourself at least one more battery. I recommend getting one that is variable voltage. I like the DV Twist batteries myself, as they are well priced and they are very good quality. DV Twists

You may also want to get a wall adapter. It's not a great idea to charge from your computer's USB port. USB Wall Socket Charger - 500mah

They are $20-30 here for just a 650mAH batt, USB charger and C4E disposable clearomizer.. $10 more for a bigger batt, case, EVOD and some juice is not to0 shabby at all.. $13 for juice is high if its 10ml. Its $5.99 locally here (good taste, but not the best. I have had some real duds from another vender)

Of course, you can find it cheaper online, but not by much and takes lotsa searching and waiting.. Shoot, unless its clearance, I have seen those cases go for $8-10 alone...

While you're enjoying the new setup, get yourself a iTaste VV V3.0 variable wattage batt and some tanks.. Takes about 2-3 weeks so plenty of time to order juice too :) $24.88 Authentic Innokin iTaste VV V3.0 VV / VW 800mAh Rechargeable Battery - w/ charging cable at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping Good way to get into variable wattage for cheap and its rated very highly. EVOD tanks and coils from there too..

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll probably buy a second battery next that's variable. Also... in the future when I have to clean the device, do any of you use an ultrasonic cleaner?

Already looking at one of those. I like the idea of some of new new batteries having USB pass-through so you can smoke while it's charging.

What's wrong with USB power other than the little step-down circuit lowering things from 5v to 4.2v and 420mA? That's not a significantly longer charge time.

If it has to do with other USB devices sharing the maximum of 500mA, I plug anything chargeable into a USB 3.0 port since they're good for 1.5A, basically 3 times as much.

Good price for your first setup. I paid a lot more and got ripped off on my first.

Always keep in mind if the smoke shop is run by Arabs, you can ALWAYS negotiate a better price. Don't make that mistake if they're Armenians because you'll end up being talked into paying extra. LoL. They're excellent negotiators.

That's exactly what I use, with warm water from the tap - nothing else other than a dry burn after.
Also use the ultrasonic bath for a fast 3 minute steep on my liquids.

Right now online you can get a joyetech ego c twist variable voltage, (Dial the volts for different flavors) 1000 mah battery (lasts a good long time) for 23.00$ battery only. It's on sale at MY Vapor Store. That's the company name. I just got one in pink peral color. If you prefer the joyetech ego, you might take a look at the site.

The most immediate thing I notice is I am not seeing any replacement atomizer heads.
I change mine about every 3 days.
Rewicked with cotton.

If you keep using that 1 atomizer head, I think in about a week you will find the taste seeming very off.

Don't toss the old heads; they can be rewicked and recoiled too.

The guy just got started, may not want to start rewicking and building coils yet. Those replacement coils are usually about 5 for $10 anyway.

Yes, I do think that price is fair for a B&M. I also do agree though, get yourself an extra battery.

Don't know about the Arab run places being able to be talked down. Stereotypical, even if true. I have actually found that most B&M will come down on price if you talk to them nice. Some won't of course, but small locally run ones, if there's not a lot of people around to overhear you try and get a better deal (especially if they just paid full retail asking price) a couple of the shops I deal with always give me a bit better deal on equipment. I don't try and beat them up too much, I realize they have to make money too, but never hurts to ask.

Not a bad deal. I paid more than double that for my starter kit with 2 1300mah VV Vision Spinners. I kinda felt the same way at first then I priced everything online and probably only paid about 10-15 dollars more. You gotta have a backup though. I would immediately go back to the B&M and get another. Heck if you can swing it go ahead and get another tank and a different flavor juice. You'll probably get bored with one flavor pretty quickly. I have 3 in rotation and I get bored with them at times. Most important, hang in there. I smoked 1-1 1/2 packs of Marlboro Reds a day and quit instantly. Sometimes I want to give in. I took a drag the other night and it was disgusting. So if it happens don't beat yourself up. I think it's good sometimes to remind ourselves how disgusting the habit is. Anyhow I can get pretty long-winded sometimes so welcome. You're in the right place. Good luck and Vape on.

Some say that if the charger and/or batt shorts, it could take out your USB port. I'm thinking it could, but its not guaranteed. Besides, I have seen what a small batt on a wall wart does when it goes, and, if your not always around when your batts are charging, I say its prolly safer to have the USB port go than pop a batt :)
